Well..........that's your discussion well and truly cattle - trucked ,80 .

Thanks Ex . That list is pretty amazing . Well worth keeping for reference . It will all have to be updated again the way city are performing this season . Leeds being in the premier league is something that is not in my memory bank

Trust me, the posters on here will come up with stats you didn't even think about.

Did you know that Tottenham Hotspur have finished above Liverpool in EIGHT of the last TEN seasons?

Did you know that Tottenham Hotspur have finished above Liverpool in EIGHT of the last TEN seasons?

Don't you just love stats like that !
My local boozer is a lovely little ,old fashioned type of place but big on football . They show every game from every league in Europe . Whenever the bindippers are on, hoards of blokes I never see at any other time , descend on the place in their red shirts , and take over . Grabbing every chair and singing stupid songs ,extolling the virtue of Klopp and the gang and that annoying little twat from Egypt . To finish above them is just so wonderful ,and .something I won't fail in reminding them is where they finished
I've got just one more night to contend with now ,when I become a Real Madrid fan for the night .
Come on Gareth . I know it ain't patriotic but I ' kin can't stand em . I ain't got BT sport otherwise I wouldn't go out to watch the game .

Apart from this seasons top 6 , every single team had a negative goal difference.

And they keep saying the PL is the best in the world lol, 12 teams are really just fighting it out to go down !!!

I've always believed that there are actually four leagues in the PL - which may now only be three ;

As it was:
Top 4
6th -10th
11th-16th
Bottom 4

As it now is:
Top 6
7th 12th
13th - 20th

And if you go through the clubs financial resources per season, it's almost uneerringly accurate and has been since the PL started, and reflects it..

Which is why when we talk of over-performing in the PL it is a massive achievement as it actually means in our case that we are over-coming a near £1 billion working capital accumulative short fall to finish two places higher than we 'should' finish based on our financials...i.e. from 6th to 4th...so third is even more special.

Poch gets it, the shame is so very few fans seem to grasp what he's achieved and what we're up against - who's to blame for constantkly having to push water uphill is a whole other debate....

Did you know we are the ONLY team to finish in the top 3 for the last 3 consecutive seasons?

Does anyone remember the euphoria we all felt when we achieved Champions League Qualification three years ago. Yes , 'Arry gave us CL a few years ago but it all blew up in our faces when it was apparent we couldn't sustain our over achievements . A lot on here were calling for Poch to be sacked if we didn't make it this season.
SACKED. ........can you believe that ? If we don't make champions league , they want the manager sacked . I just can't get my head around it
The same people were advocating that he didn't have a clue about being a manager after Juventus and M U .

I will not stop saying it , the man is a genius and if Champions league is now our standard , we need ( must) give him what he needs to sustain it

Genius? Way over the top. Over the last three seasons he has had some of the best players in Europe to play with. It's not like we have a squad of players who should be mid table.

Good-very good is far more realistic.

The players we have were not some of the best in Europe when we acquired them . Alderwiereld was out on loan when we bought him. I can't agree with you there at all RD .
It's down to Poch and the background staff that they are now some of the best in Europe

Toby was absolutely class before we bought him... his stats at Southampton prove it. I don't know how Atletico were so content to let him go I really don't...

Poch has done an astounding job though. We have no right to be in the CL and yet now people want his head if we don't achieve it.

Freund , I will not disagree with you about about Toby , but he wasn't one of the best in Europe by a long way . Southampton only had him on loan and only kicked up a fuss when we stepped in to buy him . Even his price reflected what AM thought he was worth . I'm certainly not putting him down ,I think he is amazing .
I was going to go through all the others that were not the best in Europe when Poch arrived , and since he has been here, but I couldn't be arsed . That's why I only mentioned Toby .
