Ins and outs

We need a Roy's View pronto.

Some glowing opinions of Trusty.

The talk on S2 is that Fleck's out with a long term injury. We were already short on bodies in midfield so recruitment is crucial in this area.

I have mixed feelings on Maitland-Niles. He's a player who'd be a big earner, expect to be in the team regardless of form, would need plenty of TLC from the gaffer and coaches, his productivity isn't great, just 5 assists and 1 goal in the PL. Has two relegations on his CV with WBA and Southampton.

As a player, I think he'd potentially fit in well with how we play, he has the attributes the manger would be looking for in a #8, he's tactically disciplined and industrious in the centre alongside naturally looking to attack out wide and he's familiar with PL football.

Always a good sign when fans like a player sounds a bit like JOC which is promising but as always will wait till I’ve seen him for myself
As for maitland Nile’s I’m not sure on him I’m not sure it will matter as I think he will probably prefer luton as he won’t need to move but he’ll probably go abroad for the money I reckon

My gut feeling is Maitland-Niles is one we should avoid.

He's a lad who had a rough upbringing, there was a story a year or so back about him not wanting anything to do with his homeless mother, his career hasn't reached the heights of his early potential, he's just been let go by his boyhood club and his loans to Roma, WBA and S'ton didn't work out.

He'll need building back up. Career wise he'd be better served joining us or Luton, but you can guarantee his agent will be pushing for him to go abroad for the cash.

AMN should absolutely push for a move to Saudi because if he has another underwhelming spell somewhere he won't be able to demand the silly wages.

Never wish ill on a player,(bar Ainsworth and a few others) but frankly Fleck out of the picture is a positive. It forces us to develop a new midfield with Berge and Norwood and 2 or 3 young, hungry, pacy lads with potential. Good stuff.

BTW apparently we are interested in Akpom for £8m.

Akpom's another I feel mixed about, but for under £10 million off the back of the season he had it's a tempting gamble. It wouldn't go down well with those chippy smoggy twats.

Most of us knew the time was right for Fleck to leave with Enda, Billy and JOC. Because of his fitness and form he's brought little to the team the past three seasons.

The most angering thing is the catalyst for Fleck's fitness problems was the back injury he picked up in a meaningless nations league game for the Jocks late 2020. He had a bad fall from an aerial challenge with a Slovakian player a foot taller. Steve Clarke played Fleck as a right sided defensive midfielder that night, he was negligent with Fleck, as he has been with players associated with Rangers. Clarke and Scotland can fuck off.

I've been a BIG of Flecky's but i was very surprised when he was given a new contract but i'm disappointed for the lad to have another injury,it's injuries that forked him up these last couple of seasons. UTB

Amazing first four years with us, and had he left two months back, as he should have done, we'd be in a position to wish him well and appreciate the good times.

Now we're in a position where we have to be negative about a player who has been a good servant to the club.

Maitland-Niles reported as saying we not good enough for him so that's us and Luton out the running, all allegedly of course, UTB

Wouldn't surprise me. He seems that sort. He'll be in the same boat as Jacob Mellis when he hits 30.

Lewis O'Brien wasn't in Forest's squad yesterday, he hasn't featured in any of their pre season friendlies. Still on 'holiday' apparently.

Forest got thrashed 5-0 by Rennes, they've had a very poor pre-season, Leeds destroyed them a week ago.

Would you be happy with Akpom arrivin at BDBL BFL? £8million would be a decent fee mi thinks after the way he played for Boro last season. UTB
For £8 million I would he is at least a very good championship striker. I also agree re-Fleck I think Hecky wanted to keep everyone as he was worried they would not be replaced. What a position to be in. The quality of the loans we bring in will be a major factor in how our season goes, just like last year.
