Ins and Outs 2026/27

BBC Radio Sheffield - presenter said that Millers are still in the process of sorting out the paperwork for an Ar'jany Martha loan deal. No club mentioned, might be abroad (?)
Hope so , he never looks interested to me, ok he may have crossed the ball last night for the first goal, but his lack of desire to track his man for Tranmere’s second goal was criminal.

OUT ON LOAN- He's gone to Dutch club, Telstar on loan. Looked quite good (as a winger) when we first signed him, but in the end, the Hamshaw "magic" just made him worse.

Yes you would have thought so. Then AB can set up with four across the back if necessary rather than using three Centre - Backs. A different option.
The squad is rather better than I anticipated. The late signings are exactly the kind of players I thought we should be looking for. I expect (hope?) that JF will get a grip on the MF. Bradshaw has impressed. My jury is out on Mullin. My ? are over the GK and AB's apparent Hamshawesque need to fit people into a back 3. I hope this is a passing fad.
I think we have the tools to win at Bristol but I have predicted a defeat. This is because of the innate conservatism of many coaches: I fully expect AB to persevere a while longer with a less than optimum set up. It's as if they see change as somehow admitting they got things wrong previously. We'll see; he may surprise me - and Evans!

Rotherham Advertiser Twitter - Interview with AB ... Cohen Lee is likely to go out on loan soon, plus Harrison Duncan (when fit).
Lee would have been in the team had Clark stayed I reckon. Duncan has many fans. If either or both go to North Ferriby or similar I shall be very disappointed.

Hartlepool ? (So far W2 D0 L3)

By the way, MH sticking to three-at-the back was a big factor in our relegation and cost him his job. I hope that AB knows that!

I don’t mind three at the back as long as it’s done well and you have got the players to do it. Lots of teams have success with it. What we can’t do is leave whoever out striker is isolated and bang long balls at them. The signs are there that we might have players with the ability to play through midfield. Speaking of Hartlepool, Mr Prolific seems to be playing a big part and I don’t think he has scored yet. What a strange career. All the way from non-league to the very top step by step and all the way back down again. Sadly we got him on the decline.

My stated view on it is simply that it asks quite a bit of the WBs in terms of stamina and offensive/defensive abilities and on the 2 outer CBs to cover the space and hence it works best (imo) with quality players.
The further problems I have with it (again as often stated) is that Hamshaw played it without suitable players. I worry that if AB after injuries thought Rafferty could play on the right of a 3 rather than simply opt for a 4 he may be going down the dogmatic road. We'll see.
Having got a player I think may prove to be the best MF in L2 I suspected AB would not start him. He didn't and (again only imo) it could have lost us the game.
Julian Eyestone is either a dud or the player Brentford think will soon be their No.1 yet we persist with Cann. Odd.

On the face of it, Iorfa could be an excellent signing for us.

31 years old and played most of his career in the Championship. Meant to be pretty rapid too and he's a big unit at 6"4, assuming FotMob is correct.

It'll be interesting to see what the outcome is but he could be a very good addition for us in L2.
