Ins and Outs 2026/27

30/08/26

As we approach the transfer deadline, it sounds like we are still trying to sign Jayce Fitzgerald. Our other recent possible transfer deals seem to have resulted in failure. There is still the possibility that Brandon Williams could return as a "free agent" later. He would probably only get a game if we had another injury crisis though, but knowing us, I wouldn't completely rule it out.

We don't seem to have made any progress with trying to sign another forward, which is worrying.

Pretty reliable SITK on another forum says WBA and Cardiff are both after Hall. Presumably Nemane would come in as RWB? No idea if any proceeds will be made available to AB.

RUFC Official Twitter - IN... Young midfielder Jayce Fitzgerald has joined the Millers on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

The rumours were correct, but we still need another forward.

OUT ON LOAN - James Clarke has joined Ossett U. (NPL Div. 1E) on a one-month loan.

Last week we were after a midfielder, a wide player and a forward but so far we've signed two midfielders. If (as strongly rumoured) Hall goes the squad will be even more unbalanced.

Rafferty can play right-back (but definitely not RWB); Cover played RB and RWB last season (but is doing much better as a centre-mid this); Kaleta can play RWB (but is injured again); Nemane is apparently more of a winger than a wing-back; I think J Clarke even played RWB in parts of some of the cup games last year. So we seem a bit light if Hall is sold in the next couple of days.

I’ve said it before so apologies…

With all respect to Matlock, North Ferriby, Ossett United and others it is concerning that young professionals (Clarke is twenty next month) from RUFC who we think of as being on the fringe of the first team seem to drop deep into the non league pyramid on loan deals. Is the third tier of non league where James Clarke belongs at the moment? Apparently so.

We won’t be signing Louie Marsh. Chesterfield bound.

Another rumour about another midfielder…..Billy Blacker. A few League clubs interested in signing him. ( allegedly).
Think BB was at Tranmere on loan last season.

Klaidi Lolos is more of an attacking midfielder rather than an out and out striker. Not saying he can’t be deployed up front . He’s right footed same as Arron Nemane.

George Sabine is a striker. Young, keen with something to prove.
Credit here. Two big lads with something to prove. With these options up front, Fitzgerald in the middle and a change of GK and I'm very optimistic.
