It would never have worked because they wanted the safety net of a closed shop. Think about the spending the club are doing at the minute. Would they have done it in a breakaway super league? Somehow i highly doubt it.

Although........never say never. The cost of startup vs the status quo. I wouldn't disrupt anything unless my revenues were threatened......and that may happen.
