T20 - Match 1

Malan, Bairstow and Rashid in the England team today. England won the toss and are bowling first.

Update 1 - India 104-6 with 15 balls left. Earlier Rashid dismissed Kohli, caught for a duck off a mis-hit shot. Archer, back from injury today, has taken three wickets so far.

Update 2- India 124-7 innings closed, (Iyer 67). Best England bowler was Archer with 3-23. All the England bowlers played well.

Update 3 - England 92-2 off 12 overs. Roy just gone, lbw for 49, Bairstow has just come in to join Malan.

Update 4 - England 130-2 (15.3 overs) Bairstow 26 n.o. , Malan 24 n.o.
England won by 8 wickets. Fairly comfortable win.

T20 -Match 2

Tom Curran replaces the injured Wood. India won the toss and will field first.

Update1 - England 97-3 off12 overs. Roy just out, caught in the deep, for 46. Morgan and Bairstow now batting.

Update 2 - England 164-6 innings closed. Four England batsment chipped in with 20-odd each . Best Indian bowlers were Sundar and Thakur, both with 2-29.

Update 3 - Rashid has just trapped opener Kisham lbw for an impreesive 56. India 100-2 0f 11 overs now, and England need to get Kohli out soon.

Update 4 - Kohli has just hit a six to win the game comfortably for India by 7 wickets. India finished on 166-3. with Kohli 73 n.o. England missed a couple of catches, which didn't help! Best England bowler was S. Curran with 1-22.
1-1 in the T20 series now.

I was channel flipping between this and two football matches. After the last ten overs or so of our innings I thought we'd have got India all out easily - how wrong was I!

T20 - Match 3

T20 series continues today, at same venue, but behind closed doors now, due to Covid problems in the area. No Covid cases amongst the players have been reported.

England have won the toss and will field first. Wood has recovered from his heel injury and is replaces Tom Curran.

Update 1 - India 38-3 off 8 overs. Good bowling by Wood, who removed both openers. Kohli still batting though.

Update 2 - India 87-5 off 15 overs. Another wicket for Wood, but Kohli still batting (28 n.o.)

Update 3- India 156-6 innings closed. Kohli showed his class again , finishing with 77 n.o.
Best England bowler was Wood with 3-31.

Update 4 - England 78-1 off 9 overs. Buttler going well on 51 n.o.

Update 5 - England 158-2 off 18.2 overs. Buttler ( 83 n.o.) and Bairstow (40 n.o.) saw England through to victory, without needing to take many risks.
Best Indian bowler was Sundar with 1-26
England won by 8 wickets and go 2-1 up in the series.

Did better the lads. And I notice the crowd weren't in - apparently Covid has spread again - not surprised with all that many people sat next to each other.

T20- Match 4

Unchanged England team. Kishan is out injured for India . England won the toss and will bowl first.

Update 1 - Early wicket for Archer. India now 34-1 off 5 overs.

Update 2 - Rashid has just bamboozled Kohli, getting him stumped by Buttler. India 70-3 off 9 overs. Pant has just come in.

Update 3 - Malan has just taken a great catch to dismiss S. Yadav for 57 off the bowling of Sam Curran. India 110 -4 now.

Update 4 - India 185-8 innings closed. Best England bowler was Archer with 4-33. Looks like a competitive total from India.

Update 5 - England 56-1 off 7 overs

Update 6 - England 140-5 off 16.1 overs. Stokes just out for 46, which tips the game in India's favour.

Update 7 - England 177-8 innings closed. Close finish, but India won by 8 runs to make it 2-2 in the series with one game to play.

T20 - Match 5

England won the toss and are bowling first. Unchanged England team.

Update 1 - Good start for India , who are 110-1 off 10 overs. Stokes has just bowled Rohit for 64.

Update 2 - A wicket for Rashid, but India are 157-2 now off 15 overs. A good effort from him, but most of the other England bowlers are taking a hammering.

Update 3 - India 224-2 innings closed ( Kohli 80 n.o.) Best England bowler was Rashid with 1-31. England 30-1 in reply so far.

Update 4 - England 104-1 off 10 overs. Buttler and Malan going well, but 224 is a tough target to reach.

Update 5 - England 188-8 innings closed. (Buttler 52, Malan 68) Best Indian bowlers were Thakur 3-45, and B. Kumar 2-15. The England innings crumbled after the fine partnership between Buttler and Malan was broken.

India won by the match 36 runs, and achieved a good comeback to win the T20 series 3-2.

I saw most of India's innings - they were knocking it about all over the place weren't they so I expected good things from England. I switched over at half time in the football and thought Butler and Malan were going to do it but then the other half came in before the end of the Rotherham game from the other room and sat shaking his head so I guessed they hadn't done very well!
 
Disappointing performances from the England cricketers (again) yesterday... and the England rugby union team (again)...
Great performance by the Millers though!

Cricket update - Jofra Archer has withdrawn fom the England squad for the ODI series (starts on Tuesday), due to his elbow injury flaring up again.

ODI - Match 1

No spectators present due to Covid restrictions. Root, Archer and Woakes are rested for this series. England won the toss and will bowl first. Bairstow and Rashid are playing, but not Malan. Mooen Ali and Tom Curran are back in the England team.

Update 1 - India doing well though . 89-1 off 21 overs

Update 2 - India 196-3 off 36 overs. Kohli just out for 56. Couple of wickets for Wood.

Update 3 - India 317-5 innings closed. Unbroken partnership of 112 between Rahul (62 n.o.) and K. Pandya (58 n.o.) has put India in a strong position. Best England bowler was Stokes with 3-34.

Update 4- England have started well. 135-1 off 14 overs. Roy just out for 46. Bairstow 80 n.o.

Update 5- England 169-3 now. Bairstow has just holed out for 94.

Update 6 - After Bairstow was out, the England innings crumbled. Only Moeen Ali (30) stayed around for very long. England were all out for 251 in 42.1 overs. Best Indian bowler was Thakur with 3-37.

India won by 66 runs to go one-nil up in the series.

Eoin Morgan has been ruled out for the rest of this ODI series due to a hand injury. Jos Buttler takes over as captain. Sam Biilings also may miss tommorrow's game due to a shoulder injury. Dawid Malan will probably return to the England team.

ODI - Match 2

England won the toss and will bowl first. Malan and Livingstone replace Morgan and Billings in the England team. Topley also starts .

Update 1 - 10 overs gone. India 41-2. Both Indian openers are out and a wicket each for "Topper" and Sam Curran. Kohli now at the crease.

Update 2 - India batting well and are 243-3 off 42 overs . Kohli made 66.
