Mine was from my brother who had been in business and a manager for years, his lesson which he gave me was simple, never say NO. The reasoning was if you say NO there's no where else to go. When someone wants something if you can help, assist do it and sooner or later you will be asking them to go the extra mile for you. When I was a manager I kept this in mind and had happy people working for me.
