I found out today that I have won the biggest prize on the Norwegian lottery that I have ever won in any competition.

OK so I'm not exactly ready for retirement yet but £314 is nothing to be sad about.

In reality I play very very rarely, maybe 5 times a year and I can't remember the last time I played (possibly before Christmas) but the system works a bit differently here, only registered players can play and when you register you give bank account details. If you get a big win the ring and tell you, small amounts are just held for you until either you claim or a waiting period runs out and they just transfer direct to your account. When I checked my bank account this morning I found about £300 that I was not expecting to be there, so I logged on to internet banking only to find that the money has come from "Norsk Tipping", the people who run the lottery.

Absolutely Lee. I expect it's somewhere similar to the total amount I've used on lottery tickets since the first one I ever bought when it started in the UK when I was about 18. I've never been a major player and as such only ever won a total of about £50 before so just over £300 in one go is very welcome.
