Vital Football Hero
No its nothing to do with Thunderbirds, Lady Penelope or Parker. I just watched extended highlights of Villa v Man Ure from 6th November 1976, I was there and will never forget it. IFAB want to mess with the laws of the game, go and do one will you, you muppets. The game is being run by people who have to change things to justify their existence. Go and do one again. You should now and again take a look backwards to see what real football is all about ... muppets.

You'll need to explain this more 67, not sure what you are referring to?

I share the indignation at the massive changes to our beautiful game if that's what you are saying!

Yes that is the long and the short of it ... lets have the game last 60 mins driven by a stop/start clock, dribble from a free kick, mess with the penalty laws, play on plastic pitches, play on Xmas Eve, play when it suits Sly. IFAB, FAB1 :26:

Some of the ideas being floated are crazy. We've had some good ideas in recent years, such as goal-line technology. They improve the game. But others would change the game out of all recognition and destroy it.

I've also been looking at the past, spurred on the by the reminder on the club site that today is the anniversary of the birthday of Gerry Hitchens. Great player, I saw him play at Bristol Rovers when we were in the Second Division in the 1959/60 season. 23 goals that season, 96 in 160 matches for us in all. When we sold him to Internationale in 1961 the board pocketed the money and didn't buy a replacement; there were bad things then as well.

The 60 minute consultancy comes from the fact the ball is in play for an average of an hour during any game given ball out of play/stoppages.

They have mooted making the game 60 mins but in all circumstances the clock stops at a stoppage/out of play situation.

It's a discussion - it won't happen.

But it is a consultancy into change for change sake in order to justify their existence. It is dabbling, meddling.

I remember FIFA suggesting bigger goals before the USA World Cup in 1994.

I'm surprised that idea hasn't resurfaced.
