If you travel to Carrow Rd by train......

Bolshie Budgie

Vital Champions League
from Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft or Cambridge you will see more of the new bi modal Stadler trains over the next few months:

the new trains (12 carriages) for the Norwich - Liverpool St, London come later (next year?)

About time for norwich london line.
Its been a crap service for years.

The old Euston - Manchester Piccadilly trains have done pretty well given that they are at least 27 years old as I use to catch them on that route. So they are probably over 30 years old!!

From the Greateranglia news - issue 9 2019
With regard to the delays in the greater Anglia franchise, Network Rail (not the train operator) was responsible for the delays:

65% for the 4 weeks to 27/4/19
61% for the 4 weeks to 25/5/19

and other train operating companies to blame for

12% for the 4 weeks to 27/4/19
13% for the 4 weeks to 25/5/19

Puts things into perspective!

What has been the problem for years is the weekend coach replacement service and making the alternative trains via cambridge as small as possible with prices
up to 4 times the coach replacement ones.
Totally unacceptable.

Charging train fares for coach travel is cheeky.
Hopefully the new four carriage (+bi modal unit that you can walk through) will
be a major improvement on the local Norwich routes.

In Network Rail's next 5 year plan of improvements it would be good if they could get on and enhance the Ely junction and station area. That would help
travellers in that area / cross country travellers.
