If Not Brooce Then Who?

We've had debates before in which the general consensus agrees that a manager under Mike Ashley rule is at best just a distraction.

We know where the real problem lies and the way in which Ashley has neglected and under-invested the club as well as embarrassed us, should never be far away from the bigger picture.

However, there has to be a 'but' involving the management and coaching set ups. We can only do so much under Ashley but it's a million times worse when the hope is gone and the football just absolutely clueless. Luck only lasts so long and Broocey looks like he's on a losing streak now with the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Leicester to come.

It's odds on we'll aid Arsenal in some sort of recovery in both the FA Cup and the league plus what odds will there be on Sheff Utd turning us over to get potentially their first win come January?

Rafa showed what he could build on a shoestring and whilst the likes of him wont be back under our wannabe Mike Baldwin, id snap someones hands off for the likes of Eddie Howe.

21st century football needs someone that can work within the parameters with a bit of hope thrown in but under Broocey's shite it's just nowt but prehistoric tactics that makes your eyes bleed. In today's environment it's a massive danger to health and should come with a warning.

Pulis, Hughes, Warnock! Some other desperate hoof ball journeyman manager who's willing to take it up the arse from Ashliar.

No decent, self respecting manager will want to work for a **** like Ashprick! Brucellosis was what, 14th choice?

Cant see anybody wanting this job other than an over the hill Manager, Another negative Manager or a young Manager with no Premiership credentials. The saving grace could be at least they would have a game plan and tactics. Bruce has neither, does not motivate or make the best of what he has. The so called coaching staff are clueless. Fearing a record numbers of goals conceded in the next few games and exit from the FA Cup. Ashley and Co will of course act too late if at all, although the prospect of relegation and loss of any potential buyers will ring in his ears.

Ashley actually paid compensation to get Bruce and let's not forget old Broocie done the Judas over his old club Wednesday. 100 million on players, 40m on 1 player, paid the manager out of his contract and can't muster a shot against Brentford second team

Id politely disagree in that Broocey will have been 1st choice.

I've said before I've always been surprised Ashley hasn't gone for a foreign coach as the current Newcastle way of doing things (ie board buy and sell the players ) is more in line with how it's done with a lot of European teams.

(I don't class Rafa as in this mould as he's an absolute control freak)

Eddie Howe for me but as stated by the time they react to what’s going on it could be too late anyway!

Am I the only person who doesn't get the whole Eddie Howe thing? Not that I've a better suggestion but I just don't get it.

I'm not overly fussed on Eddie Howe just because it's a huge gamble. There's nothing on his c.v. to suggest he could handle managing Newcastle. When he left Bournemouth briefly to manage Burnley it didn't work. That being said his sides all try to play football and he did have that great season where Bournemouth finished in the top 10. An outsider analysis of that is he should be able to do better at Newcastle United with more resources but we all know he probably had more say and more financial support at Bournemouth. Just my observation but he's always come across as little bit fragile mentally and I don't know how that would work for him with the pressures here.

I'd still rather take that gamble than have Bruce in charge for another minute though.

I'd personally like to see Lucien Favre given a go . He didn't do well at all at Dortmund but at BMG and Nice he qualified for Champions League. He builds sides developing younger players (and they are then sold for a lot of money usually , something which would fit the Ashley model well) and plays a nice fluid counter attacking based style.

Anybody who understands anything about football could do a better job.

Who teaches a team that when they get a throw in within distance of the opposition box, they instead throw it backwards only for that player to pass it backwards again to our keeper. Happened twice vs Brentford ffs.

I would give Eddie Howe a chance can’t be any worse that what we have now.

Anybody but Bruce please.

More than likely!

No doubt Bruce will get lucky and come out of the next 3 games without defeat against all conceivable odds. There might be a very fortuitous win thanks to a controversial VAR decision. Then pricks like Sutton, Savage and Murphy will be wanking themselves stupid.

Not sure what I'm missing here, but for the second season in a row relegation is not really a genuine fear.
Ashley 11 deluded fans 2 !

Tony Pulis has just been sacked by Sheffield Wednesday (after 10 games).

Just the kind of desperate journeyman manager that would work for Ashliar.

Up until the Man City game Bruce had the best start to a season since Pardews 5th place finish

I just dont understand what any one thinks is going to change with a new manager ??

It's like our fans have totally accepted that survival is the only objective but demand to see attractive football while trying to achieve it

The club is fucked but fans still focus on the pros and cons of Ashley's appointments - it makes absolutely no sense to me

That start is more down to overworked Karl Darlow's impressive form, Callum Wilson's ability to finish, ASM's ability to create something out of nothing and absolute luck with some very fortunate VAR decisions.

Nothing will change with a new manager, it'll be a journeyman hoof ball specialist, desperate for a PL job. Even then, not many would want to work for a **** like Ashley.

A club that features in the top 20 richest clubs in the world SHOULD be competing against Everton, Leicester, Southampton and Wolves, now Villa are looking to have a bit of ambition. There's no fucking excuse for not competing!

What the fuck is the point in being in a league without any interest in challenging? Pointless!

I still think relegation is a distinct possibility granted Sheffield Utd and West Brom are fucked but there is still another spot to be filled and we are certainly contenders for that. As stated it will make no difference who the manager is whether we survive or get relegated same shit every year bar the odd game. It will remain that way with Ashley pulling the strings.

"Up until the Man City game Bruce had the best start to a season since Pardews 5th place finish"

It defies logic that supporters choose to ignore this fact.

A random thought and with this Jones character coming in. I wonder what odds you can get on Broocey 'going off sick' in the next few weeks and Jones taking 'interim' charge.

Just got a sneaky feeling......
