I Wish The Spurs Manager Would Just Shut Up

Brilliant bit of pre-weekend action unsettling of our loan player by the Spurs manager. Either re-call him or shut up for goodness sake.

I couldn't agree more. I just can't see why he's here.

I'd be happy enough if he left.

I do think loans can be a good thing, especially if It's with a permanent deal in mind. I hope Johnstone stays for a long time.

I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep if he was re-called. He's blown hot and cold since he has been with us.... mostly cold.

Spurs are the Liverpool of London. I would happily see anyone win the title over the red racist machine or the merchant bank Yiddish army. I truly loathe Liverpool.

Whether or not you think he’s good enough, one thing for sure is that it can’t exactly be helpful for a player to be constantly told he might be moving clubs. He’s supposed to be focusing on us not worrying (or hoping) about going back to Spurs

Just curious pvb, why racist?

Can't understand why he's with us doesn't bring much to the party as far as I can see rather see one of our own breaking through

The real mystery is why Poch would want him back, because based on his performances for us he wouldnt even rate a place on the bench for Spurs.

About Posh? Meh. He was asked, he had to say something. What he said is probably exactly what he's thinking. Don't see it necessarily as unsettling. Players of that age are moving around the whole time; there's always an element of uncertainty, look at Tish. If Onomah thinks that he might be recalled, should that affect his attitude while he's here? It shouldn't; if it does it says something about Onomah's temperament.

Whether the loan was a good idea in the first place, or whether it's turned out OK, is a vastly different question. He's had a few good moments, but does that make him any better than Tish, for example. Getting him might have been an idea while Jack was out injured, but I wouldn't say he's done much for us.

For me, time to draw the line and send him back. We've enough other players who are fit and fighting for places, who will do more for us this season and beyond. I certainly don't want him playing ahead of those of our own players who can offer more.

And I also agree wit JF - put up or shut up. If you want him back, just get on and recall him and put an end to this nonsense of a loan. I guess Pochettino expected Onomah would breeze into the side and play most of the matches, but it's not really worked out that way.

As such, he should just go back to Spurs and get on with his career. As it stands, it's a bit of a waste of time for everyone.

Funny thing is I've never seen anything in him but when a player flukes a couple of goals from deflected shots peoples views are suddenly changed , all of a sudden he is playing well , when in fact he's been pretty ordinary .
I tend to look at the players whole game not just the flashes of good play .

Hogan is the latest one 2 goals and he's turned the corner and is the greatest striker since Gary
Shaw , when in fact his overall game is just as it's been since he arrived chases around a lot and makes a few runs but has he really done anything other than poach two goals ?

Snodgrass exactly the same , was having some poor games , scores a couple and he's suddenly MOTM .

Anyway I'm waffling again , I'd send Onomah packing before they recall him

I dont think anybody has been saying that Hogan is the greatest thing since Gary Shaw, 57, just that he gets a bit better service and he looks a better player.
Likewise Snodgrass, I think he brings something to the game and its not about goals, yes they help, its his overall contribution and the way he brings others into the game.
Ironically it was his superb cross that created for Hogan at Forest.

Exactly mate it was one cross in 90 mins, which was my whole point !
It's the fickleness of all football fans and the media I guess.

I wasnt at the Forest game so I will take your word for it that one cross was his only one, but what a cross.

If the one cross ends with a goal that's fine. Football is so tight these days that often you only get one killer cross per game; the thing is you need somebody on the end of it. That Snodgrass/Hogan combination was the sort of thing which wins games, and on this occasion did.

In the Bristol C game it was a great cross from Adomah which led via Hogan to the first goal. When it was repeated the failure of the goalkeeper to deal with it led to Snodgrass getting the second goal.

Yep, Hogan runs around. Great movement; that's what poachers do. Just get the odd well-timed cross in and he'll be on the end of it.

Comparing him with Onomah is pointless. Onomah has had plenty of opportunity to make his mark and hasn't done it.
