I watched Accrington Stanley today...

...and they were a good, neat passing team. Beat a below strength Blackburn Rovers team 1-0. In Kayden Jackson they have an excellent striker who not only knows how to score but is quality at continually setting up Billy Kee. Gills will have to keep an eye on Jackson next week, he`s very slippery ! (Les Ferdinand was in the stand and general feeling was that he was watching Jackson). Kee only played the first half and Jackson went off early in the 2nd. In the first half Stanley dominated Rovers and the ball was hardly out of the Blackburn half.

Accy have two good very big, tall central defenders and if they both play against the Gills (they each played a half today) there will be little point in punting in long crosses. Parker and List would probably make better progress.

Looking forward to next Saturday, it`s all about what happens on the day and I`m sure SL won`t be under estimating anyone. COYG.

I don't care what anyone says about Colchester being "only a friendly" having one of last season's best defences torn apart in that way is not good news. I can see us losing 3-0 at Accy with Kee scoring a brace,

Without seeing the game, I think it shows we are more suited to four at the back, and trying to fit Lacey in doesn’t work. He’ll have to remain as sub I think. As said above, one of the best defences from last season getting pulled apart - I think the defence needs to stay as last season; at least to start.

Sky reporting this afternoon that Kayden Jackson is on the verge of signing for Ipswich Town. Follows on from report in Sunday`s Sun that the Tractor Boys had bid 1.25 Million for him. Good news for Gills if he`s gone by Saturday, he spearheads Accy`s attack.
