Does he mean - i am too good to play for a mid table club?

Chelsea captain John Terry is not being offered a new contract and will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old defender, who joined the club at the age of 14, has won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the Champions League with the Blues.

"Ideally I would have loved to stay, but the club's moving in a different direction," he said.

Terry also said he will continue his playing career, but not with another English club.

"I couldn't play for another Premier League club. It will be elsewhere for sure," added the former England captain.

"I feel as though I'm in great nick, I'm playing great and I've got a couple of years to go. It'll just be elsewhere.

"The club will move on. No player is ever bigger than the club. No doubt they'll sign one or two great centre-backs."

Not sure that the owners would be massively impressed with the details which would be revealed in the fabled 'dossiers' that are compiled on transfer targets. Don't think his behaviour in the past would make him a good fit for the image of the club that they are so keen to build.

I persoanally wouldn't want him anywhere near any club in the CFG.

They need a defence they were foeful last season in that department they have a keeper worse than Flapper Willy and although Facey did well he needed a decent partner

I know what you mean. They were all over the shop. Angelino did OK for a young lad I thought - great experience for him

Aren't MLS clubs only allowed three designated players or something to that effect?

Which would mean that NYCFC are already full with Lampard, Villa and Pirlo.
