If media reports are to be believed then Hugo Lloris could be making his way to Real Madrid.

I really hope he stays.

That said, if there is any truth to this there is little doubt that Madrid will pay an insane amount, and any replacement we will try to sign will cost just as much.

If he goes, I hope we make the adjustments on time. Plan ahead and buy the replacement long before the summer.

I woudn't want Vorm nor Lopez as our main keeper. Unfortunately a keeper is not a position we can afford to gamble on with a young and inexperienced keeper. If Butland can get rid of his injury woes I'd take him in a heart beat, otherwise Shmeichel is also a fine option.

 
Reports are that madrid want courtois and then lloris.


If madrid offer silly money then I would let him go. Would like to keep him but there are some good options out there.

I'd take schmiechel as well.

 
He's incredible but he is replaceable, you've seen when Vorm has come into the side this season we ain't really missed Lloris and I'm sure we could improve on Vorm.

How about a bid for Donnarumma :45:

I suspect we'd like to keep him one more season as Lopez may not yet be entirely ready for the Pl, but the last time I spoke to someone about him, they suggested we thought he was going to be pretty special and sooner or later we'd have to sell Lloris to make room for him...

I thought Lopez was on loan?

Don't want Hugo to go, but if he did I'll be all over Butland.

Didn't see this before I posted, but agree 100 percent aside from the schmeichal part - I don't rate him at all
 
Hugo is 30 now. Can still get top money for him. 2 years time maybe not. Vorm is good enough IMO but we need to be searching. I have never been as enthusiastic as some with Hugo.
 
Apparently we have just triggered Lopez buy out clause at 6 million. So it was a loan to buy. Not sure if this means anything .
 
If he wants to win trophies he should go. I won't hold it against him. He has given us nearly 5 seasons. Amazed we have kept him for so long.

Lopez has talent. He is a good shot stopper. He has presence. Anyone remember Espen Baardesen? Very similar to him. But is he ready?

Vorm is a quality keeper, but is 34 this year. Bit of a gamble to only have Vorm and Lopez as our keepers.

One things for sure if we sell Hugo we will have to sign a big name. Not necessarily a keeper. You can't sell a player like that and not bring in a big name. Sets the wrong message.

 
If I were him I'd stay, but that's because I'm a Spurs supporter and wouldn't want to play for anyone else !

Unfortunately we can't compete with the wages and attraction of Madrid. Lloris is one of the best in the world and I was shocked when we signed him. I'd love to keep him, obviously, so hopefully Levy squeezes every penny out of them if he does go.
 
I said we should have bought Jack Butland when we had the chance. he is going to be a top class 'keeper and IMHO, he is already better than either of our back ups.
 
Someone said somewhere on VS (can't remember where now) about making enquiries about Joe Hart at Torino. I doubt he'll ever go back to City and so it must be worth a punt.
 
Hart is a good shout, if we could sell Hugo for £40m+ and get Hart for surely not much more than £10m that would give us money to go out and buy an outfield player with real quality. Wouldn't be so bad IMO

Obviously would rather keep Hugo but wouldn't be the end of the world
 
Is signing another keeper a good idea?

If Poch rates Lopez then he should go with him. He will be 23 at the end of the year so what would be the point in holding him back even more? De Gea, Butland were already established at his age.

Depending on how the season finishes I would chuck Lopez in at the deep end.

If we are serious about promoting Pau then we have to do it next season. If he isn't good enough then what is the point in activating his transfer deal?
 
Tell you what lads .....start a thread with a concise and to the point subject then have it hijacked by the front page, padded out to make it look good but with little content and let them take the credit for it. I'm not bitter, I don't give a stuff but I do like confrontational humour.
