I quiet agree Seasider. I have been used to being down more than up in the last 20 years. Makes a change to see a pragmatic team shape. Got to say Radio Nottingham is useless. Commentary keeps on dropping. Very Amateurish.
Makes you really annoyed that we pay for this crap commentary !!
Yes, but keep it hush hush😜

In one respect you have to feel sorry for CH. The players that played today were no different than what he had available to him. You would have to ask yourself questions as to why you couldn't get a similar performance.

Different formation and a different game plan maybe letting them off the leash a bit more. They didn't press just for the sake of it today, they let them have it in their half then sprung on them when they crossed the half way line. They attacked in more numbers whilst also having enough back to deal with any break aways, set pieces were also mildly more effective. No pointless long punts up to a lonely striker, and players showing for the ball and making overlapping runs. All those things we hardly ever saw when CH was in charge, we were clueless at buiidng an attack and incredibly stagnant in our movement if we continue to play like that we will be OK and it will be clear CH was not allowing the side to play in a way that suited them.

Maybe it had to happen this way.

The time is right.

Special treat - Gene Clark (on his last legs) and Carla Olson. Don't know who the ace guitar dude is.

Not really Forest related, but I'm celebrating the win.

Applied the same tactics as Wednesday - avoid at all costs, let it happen without my involvement.

Didn't work on Wednesday - OR DID IT?

Within days, CH was sacked (inevitable after that result) and Derby went into admin (nothing to do with us, but lightens the mood sooo much)

Now we win 2-0 away. My tactics have a 50% success rate.

Clearly players especially the attacking ones were being told to play it safe and focus more on keeping the other teams out, hopefully we see more of the same next couple of games wasn't a top performance but a thousand times better than it had been. Incredible how negative we've been for so long, best form of defence is attack but CH didn't belive in that philosophy.

last twenty we were pushed to a back five and played a bit like Forest under CH, unable to get out and Mount attacks. The reason we won was because until those last twenty/thirty we had a back three and outnumbered them in midfield. Many have had plaudits for Yates. He had the same game as he often has. Breaks up attacks, gets in interceptions, tackles good defensive headers. The main difference yesterday was when he looked up he had options in front and when he did pass sideways he could advance to receive return knowing his defence was covered with extra defender.

SR after game said he went three at back to match up. Would he of done same if Huddersfield had a back 4. Will new manager keep a back three. It is a Forest strength.

He actually said it was partly to match up and partly because he thought it was the best formation for the players we have with him wanting to get the attacking players on the ball in the right areas.

With Joyce beside him providing the experience, Reid looks like he could have a serious future ahead of him as a manager. Far too early for him and our situation is far too perilous but we need to keep hold of both of them with an eye to the future.
