How to play football...Ipswich style!

Every once in a while something comes along to remind you that this a truly terrific sport.

just goes to show that you have to take some risks to draw the opponent out into thinking they can nick the ball. the way we play it so safe only means the opponent just sit back and soak it up. I think we focus too much on not losing possession, that we never do anything with it.

Sorry to be a buzzkill but the opposition were as useful as a wet paper bag in defense!

It's not that big a problem that they were mate. Its the collective intelligence and weight of pass that is thrilling. They are super calm in possession and shift the ball at the optimal moment. The only downer is a good side will do this to Mopo and his press. Whatever happens with these lads as individuals, you are looking at something more impressive, a coaching ethos that a bunch of British and Irish players actually get!!!

Lovely. The most satisfying thing about that is that it has 100% been coached. That hasn't somehow happened because 5-6 players decided 1 touch would work better. That has been worked on over and over again. Bravo

What I said Hobo, its the collective understanding of what is learned behavior that is so pleasing. It's coaching with a capital C

My word, you dug through the archives for this one. How many of the players that scored that goal are currently in their PL team?
