Just read Warnock's interview after the Boro /Wednesday game and he makes a comment that there will be a number of clubs with a points deduction next season.Who is this likely to be and is there any possibility we could be one?

No chance of us, and I doubt they could minus points off any club unless they have taken the piss. Next season is going to be horrendous unless we spend. We will need a complete rebuild with loans and conetracts up.

Im not looking forward to it at all

Can’t see why Forest should be one. Chairman took a hit earlier to ensure we are within financial rules.

WOW there is one million not looking forward to it chap!

Since when do we give any credence to anything Warnock says?

He is probably talking about points deductions for FFP; I thought FFP was kind of suspended this year due to the drop in incomes?

To be fair Pope the hope that a few clubs might get a points deduction ,if we are not included, could be our saviour next season!

It is hard to take Warnock seriously on any subject never mind financial affairs, but it is safe to assume we will not be one of the Clubs who suffer from a points deduction.

According to the rules, as they stand, we could lose more than we did last season and still be within the parameters of P & S; the Chairman indicated in his recent interview that would not be the case.

If you go through the previous accounts you can clearly see why the losses have risen in the last two years; the increase in paying off players who were no longer wanted resulted in a jump in wages paid, together with the associated amortisation costs, and you have the bulk of the losses covered.

There are also clear indications why the losses will not be repeated in the next or future accounts.

The size of the squad, which grew due to the constant changing of managers, is now down to manageable levels - once the loans go back and the players who have contracts ending in June have gone, we are down to a squad of 19 players plus the youngsters.

That squad of 19 includes Ioannou, Carvalho and Da Costa, who will surely be on their bikes, and the likes of Bachirou, Jenkinson and Arter who should also be leaving.

If you look ahead 12 months we also have another 8 players with contracts running out.

The only fly in the ointment will be income once the lockdown is over; it will be difficult to gauge how many supporters return to the Club, and what impact that has on attendances.

No, it has not been suspended; the terms have been extended to a four year span instead of three and Clubs can make a case for loss of income.

So in other words, clubs can get away with it

I'm not sure they can.

The rules on what is allowed for loss of income will have to be transparent, and, I would assume, be based around what Clubs can claim from the Government.

You can be certain that the likes of Gibson at Middlesbrough will have his accountants going over submissions from every Club; he has run a very tight ship and will be very keen to ensure everyone else has done so too.

In fact, it is highly likely that Gibson has mentioned his intent to assess the accounts from all Clubs to Warnock, and he has assumed that there will be a large number of failures.

We only need 3 (excluding us)

Is Warnock referring to this, where the government gave an extension for the filing of accounts, which the EFL doesn't seem to accept, allied to the obvious covid financial problems. Article is dated 6th April 2021.

Derby County are reported to be among 10 Championship clubs hit by a new EFL transfer embargo.
Along with the Rams, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Huddersfield Town, Luton Town, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City were all placed under a registration ban at the end of last month, according to the Daily Mail.

The report cites concerns that some clubs are facing "financial Armageddon" in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Derby have declined to comment on the matter at this stage - but others have opted to speak out.
Coventry confirmed on Tuesday morning that they have been placed under a transfer embargo and criticised the decision.
