I ordered this for Gimmer back in August as a forthcoming Xmas present. I went to the shop yesterday to collect it and I must say it is an excellent book so big credit to those diehard fans that researched and produced this book. It is now gift wrapped and hidden away until Xmas Day. Given the crazy price of new books these days I think this is very reasonably priced.

I wish Gimmer a lovely Christmas and New Year, and it’s a pleasure having you on here Kate, I wish you the best as well.

We have some really good books here. I’ve never seen a copy of the first edition of HotSM but there are a couple of Haydn Parry books detailing each of the promotion seasons.

Roger Triggs has a decent history one as well as another one which is a compendium of every player. A bit redundant now we have the Gills Scrapbook online though.

Otherwise David Elligate IIRC has some decent small books. Gills on this Day and another one I can’t remember.

There was also a quiz book by Jamie Reid, who IIRC used to be the BBC Radio Kent commentator!

I've just emailed the club to find out postage to NZ.
Will no doubt cost a few limbs but worth it.
It's a strange madness we supporters have.

Did you just reply to their email Archie? Or another address?

I replied to the “order ready for pick up” email but no response yet.

Thank you very much Trev. I think Gimmer has most, if not all of those books. He has a whole bedroom full of very old Gills memorabilia including many programmes going back to pre war and like his Anglia, he will not part with any of it.
Merry Xmas.

Just emailed the club via its contact us link.
Got the machine reply that the email had been received.
With a bit of luck someone will do some legwork this week and get a figure for postage for me

Failing that I sure many on here would be happy to collect it for you and sort out postage privately, myself included.

Hopefully they get back to you quickly

In the past it's taken a week or so for someone to get back to me. I'm not stressing.
Thanks for thd pick up offer. Much appreciated

Does anyone know if the pre-orders will be honoured beyond Thursday? I’m out at a work/retirement do that night when I was hoping to pick it up after work, but now it’ll have to wait until Cheltenham.

I mean, I know I’ve paid for it (them) but I don’t want my copies to go to some oinks in the queue at 5pm Thursday and I’ll then have to wait until the next printing. They’re Christmas presents.

Doh, I've been to collect mine today so could've asked if I'd known. I reckon so but perhaps give them a call

If you forward your email to someone else they can pick it up for you. I've picked up a copy for a friend.

Anyone able to check the postage amount to Aus for me?

The club got back to me and said it’s £35 which seemed very high. And if that’s express, it doesn’t need to be for me, 2nd class snails pace is ok. But also they said I’d have to phone them to arrange. That seemed odd as they have all my postal details anyway.

So if anyone fancies picking mine up and posting I’d be grateful. Otherwise have to sit on the phone for half an hour one night.
