You're right Rex. However, we can never understand the complex relationships between the teams at the time. One loss at that time may have put pressure on the squad: even an indivudual who then allows a goal to be conceded and gives another team hope.

True. However, I am pleased that on 21st Feb I didn't put my bet on Newcastle to finish 10th and the 3 relegated teams to be West Brom, Stoke and Southampton.
