Now Villa still in championship and need to cost cut, would anyone want Lansbury back?Just watch the highlights of the Newcastle game when Henri got two players sent off, created the goals and wondered what fans thoughts were on bringing him back!!
 
Don't think there can be many players who divide opinion like Lansbury. Like any really talented player at forest, he was hated relentlessly.

There's no point me saying that I would have him back as there is no chance of it happening from either end

Massively over paid for his meagre contribution.

I do not think he would be in any rush to come back, because I cannot see his agent pulling the wool over this crowds eyes like he did with Fawaz.
 
Club shouldnt even consider him even if given for free ... for us to gain promotion we need hard workers and less show offs...he was one of the later. For every good game that he had, there were another dozen average (or worse) ones. Here we had to play him cause we didnt have an alternative (and we made the mistake to put him as club captain)...at Villa it was a different story. Even last year he struggled to hold a starting place, this year was even worse for him...at time not even making the bench...that says it all about what Lansbury is really worth.
Looking back at his carrear, it was only at Forest that he was always (almost) an automatic choice. Previously he was considered as an impact player...teams that won promotion with him in the side, never bothered to sign him permanently when in the Premiership. Now he is even struggling to hold a place in a promotion chasing team in the Championship...that says it all...
 
As CP says, in theory I could see how he would fit in but for both parties I would think the answer would be thanks but no thanks. And that’s before the subject of wages came up.
 
Flatters to deceive could a be phrase made for Lansbury.

He certainly has talent & he put in more work than he ever gets credit for, but it seems nobody including him can find a position we here can consistently impact games in a positive way. He's had runs as a number 10, in a holding role & as a standard central midfielder but in each position he's had 1 good game to 3/4 nondescript performances.

He's have to be free, take a wage cut & be happy with a place on the bench for me to be interested.
 
Why do people start going on about other former players?? Mcgugan is crap!! Lansbury can do a good job in this division!! He is not past it!! Get a grip. A yes or no is fine!! Personally I’d think he would do well in a AK team!!

More to the point, Lansbury is 27 and in the prime of his career, yet people are comparing him to players that have retired or are deep into their 30's. Even McGugan is heading for his 30th soon.

Our form last season absolutely collapsed the minute that Lansbury stopped (refused) to play for us. He was an excellent player.

However, he is a good time player. You want him on the deck of the Titanic entertaining on a summer's day, not organising people into the lifeboats when it is sinking

Fail to agree to pope...he left us to go to a team were definitely was not a sinking ship...infact the closer this ship was to achieving promotion the less Lansbury was used...maybe he will do a job at a mid table team ...but not at one looking to get promoted..nd that what i hope we r going to be...
 
Talking of the Villa bench I would be miffed if I supported them as to why Kodija never starts anymore.He is by far their biggest threat and would sign him over most strikers,if not all, in this division.
