Help and Advice needed

Hi, i'm not on the beg from people on here. But i am doing a charity event for Breast Cancer Care - which is a charity that look after people after they have had breast cancer.

I'm doing a raffle and i'm hoping that some local businesses would donate something to use as prizes. So my first question to you all is, does anyone know of any businesses that would be willing to donate something?

Secondly, to get something donated from the villa would be fantastic... does anyone know where i would even start with this? (JF you might be the best to advise me on this)

This is the first time i have done anything on this scale and im finding myself a bit lost. I still have plaenty of time as its not until the 16th of October.

All your advise and help and even contacts would be amazing. Thank you. :94: :94:

Send your letter to Aston Villa customer services, in the first instance asking them to forward it to the correct department, would be my first port of call.

If your allowed to trying wording a request with free advertisement such as the donation will acknowledge your companies involvement, with for example a ''donated by ****'' card by it.

You could also offer donations of free service, such as prizes of people say willing to do 2 hours gardening, or housework for instance, from maybe people involved in this.Maybe ask local businesses such as a butchers, fruit and veg shop, hairdressers if they will donate. The hairdressers could give say a cut and blow wave, bringing advertisement for very little cost except time.

Maybe you know someone who is good at baking and will make a cake for your raffle.
Also if you know anyone who runs Avon catalogue you may find they will donate, or contact their customer services. Avon support breast cancer research and often sell products with the profits going to Avon.

Not such as whom however I hope they are ideas that will help you.

hi KK - ive not read what you have put yet as i'm just going into a meeting. I will read it and reply when i get out. Didnt want you to think i was being rude :)

Ok so what ive done so far -:
emailed the works, folsky, the body shop, boots, sports direct, tesco, sainsbury's Aston villa and lush (bit of a punt but you never know)

The works emailed back saying they couldnt help, which is what i'm expecting from most of the others. Aston Villa sent me an automatic reply saying that they will look into it but they prefer 6 weeks notice, whi i havent got.

ive got someone to make cakes, donate prizes and even got a bouncy castle.

It'll all come together im sure

Sadly all the things I'd got that could be raffled have now been donated here there and everywhere otherwise I'd have gladly given you a signed 82 picture or whatever.

Don't think I've got anything else that would be suitable.

I may be able to help out Barney. Would a signed Warwickshire 1 day shirt be ok or some tickets to a game ?

dennis that would be fantastic!!

JF don't worry mate :35: it was just advice i started this for :)

but dennis that would be absolutly brilliant!!!

also ive just emailed some local nail bars, hair salons and restaurants so hopefully some of those will come up trumps
