Heads up

Made in Wigan

Vital Champions League
A heads up - I’m sure he won’t mind me mentioning it.

For those not following the Reform thread in Off Topic, firstly why not, you don’t know what you’re missing. More importantly a heads up that our very own Jock will be making his TV debut in tonight’s Question Time audience. BBC one, 22.40 this evening. He may even sneak in a reference to Vital Latics. Good luck Jock.

Just watched it the only bloke who spoke any sense was the Tory bloke. Local and spoke a few home truths. Reform bloke was just like I thought. Out numbered 5 to 1.on the panel What I heard from Burnham no were near good enough to be the leader of the. Country. Stay with Starmer. He’s poor but a lot better than him

Cheers MiW, My question was selected as 1st one to be asked. Just watched it now on iplayer.....unfortunately unable to get any Latics / Vital reference in....
Question was

How can politicians restore the public's trust and confidence in them given the scandals, U turns & broken promises .
I also put embezzlement but that got taken out

More skullduggery from the BBC, edited questions galore.

Burnham handed the soft questions while Rob Kenyon was bombarded with tough unanswerable questions, no wonder Rob looked uneasy while Burnham had a smug look on his face throughout the show.

Reform man was shocking, he couldn't put two sentences together completely out of his depth

Why is Rob Kenyon so obsessed about the farmland alongside the M6 slipway at Marus Bridge. Does he go dogging down there or something?

Can definitely see Reform's popularity taking a hit after that. Women clearly aren't going to vote for him in numbers - he should have had a statement and apology lined up but completely fumbled it, and he is clearly out of his depth. My politics are completely the opposite to Reform, but I do want to see more younger and working class people trying to get into politics. However, he is not the one. Several in the audience came across far better.

Was hoping someone would raise the question about the M6 to M61 link road. So much of the issues of localised congestion in Wigan/ Ashton / Hindley is due to the fact that we do not have a dedicated and modern route that has been needed for 50 years. Get this road sorted and then the housing developments and town centre rebuilds can follow. I agree that we need more council and high-density housing in our towns, we don't need sprawling cul-de-sacs of 3/4 bed semis. And putting these close to public transport and town centres is needed to rejuvenate our local economy. However, the infrastructure can't be retrofitted around this.

Possibly taken out because Murrell wasn't a politician per se in that whilst he was the Chief Exec of the SNP, he wasn't a publicly elected official?

Thought the programme went soft on the Reform candidate, probably out of embarrassment.

For a reservist to plead 'squaddie banter' on this Vorderman instance, without apology and to little challenge, is an indication much of our journalism is a little too close to power nowadays.

Or do instances like this not matter after a short spell of time?

Can understand anyone snubbing Labour, but there are better candidates than Reform for disaffected voters. The Conservative candidate for one, after last night.

Defending Reform just as you do Lowey. Maybe he'll spit his dummy out too.

One of the biggest failures of Andy Burnham. Was the clean air tax. And how much was wasted on that project. And his wife was involved. That should have been one of the first questions. Asked. As that affected all the Wigan area. Can’t believe it was never brought up. He never got one difficult question to answer.
I’m not sticking up, for the reform bloke he was poor.
Sticking to a local plumber. As probably lost them the seat.
