A question for our home cinema buffs.... I've had a WD (Western Digital) HDMI Player for a good while now and am now getting all sorts of problems with it, crashing during a film on my Hard Disk, not switching on with the remote, slow actions selecting menus sometimes etc, getting hot, etc. I've analysed the various factors in the bad running, nothing seems to point to anything but heat problems and possible circuit faults in the unit. So I'm about to ditch it for something better? If I reboot it by unplugging the power and switching back on, the remote works great but no consecutive remote actions.... Complicated!
So the question is, "what's the best I can buy with a view to 4K being on the horizon and what will handle large hard disk storage of films etc and all the video formats I need for the future?" AND can anyone suggest how I might circumvent future proofing problems?
