Have we ever gone in to the first game without any signings...

Taricco the yid

Vital Champions League
In the PL era?

Can't recall of the top of my head.

Im not worried as some are but it feels weird not having one person in. That may change as there is still a week to go but I doubt it.

I still think we will end up with two before the window closes.

Levy never fails to surprise by disappointing.

The Club have been a shambles all summer

To go into the season like this is difficult to understand. Our rivals have strengthened already deep squads and we are weaker than last season.

Even if we sign 3 or 4 good players they have no pre season with us so will not hit the ground running.

If we come out of this smelling of roses it will be remarkable. I predicted 7th and am starting to see that as even more possible now.

7th lol. Come on NRD we are so much better than that, even without signings. Anyone who thinks everton will do well this season are kidding themselves, they have to many players to bed in plus they are going in to the season with sandro and rooney as strikers lol. Everton supporter i know said klassen and sandro look average atm.

We probably are now but what if key players get injured. Kane, Alli, Eriksen, a CB, Davies etc. Trippier has an ankle twist. If that is ligaments it could be 6 weeks or more.

Tarricco that isn't the point though is it? We finished 2nd last season so we should have done a lot more to show we are ambitious and want to compete. We have done feck all and this is the weakest we have been in a long time. Strong first 11 or not.

If I was one of the best players I would want out. The lack of ambition is astonishing.

What worry have the first 11 got about starting games - no push or threat for places.

Yet our best players keep saying we don't need to spend big - off eh? And it doesn't sound like they're lacking ambition at all.

I wouldn't say we are 'weak' at all, but we do have a couple of positions to address., and I suspect that efforts to do just that are on-going.

Would you expect them to say anything else? They know whats happening and are trying to be as positive as possible to get what they can from the season.

More than anything that's a great mentality.

It is, but I am 100% certain they'll be fully aware of what our transfer ambitions are this season - there isn't an agent in the PL/Europe that isn't.

Danny as you well know thinks we need one 'marque' player - and he knows exactly who he's talking about when he has said it.

Neymar ?

LOL!

My bet is that he's been referring to Barklay and it's looking increasingly like we're almost done with the agents and clubs dance card prelims and a deal could be agreed very soon.

Wasn't we thumped 1-5 at home by City a good while ago? We had a makeshift back four that day because of sales/injuries.

Our plans haven't changed, there will be very good reasons for the delay in getting the across the line..

Kieran Trippier suffered an injury in the victory but the Tottenham boss says it will not alter his plans, adding: "[the injury] does not change our idea."

"Our idea was, the same as before, to try to provide the team with more strength and try to sign a few players before the end of the transfer window."

HAHA when you said marquee signing, barkley didn't even enter my head.
