With Brendan Rodgers name being thrown into the ring for next England manager it is my opinion that RH's attributes are being highlighted. Very good with the media and compliant with FA wishes is Roy really that bad an option?
It has always been my opinion that the England manager needs to be able to pull the players together quickly and not play complicated football. Any "system implementation" would be doomed to fail because of the very transient nature of the player base. That would rule out Rodgers and Pochettino as managers. It would call for someone like Harry Redknapp, Pulis or Allardyce. Managers that can quickly coalesce a team mentality, assess their squad strengths and implement a "style" to play to those strengths.
I will admit that Rodgers as England manager has me salivating at the comic relief it will provide. If it does happen I am sure he will find a way to have his coronation televised.
However, this is about Roy and the fact he is bringing in youth and by choice or not, revitalizing England's international future.
