Harry sticks the knife in

You can always trust good ol' 'Arry Redknapp to come up with something from the dim recesses of what passes for his 'mind' when his beloved Spurs are flying high. The man who almost accused Balotelli of attempting to murder Scott Parker has penned his latest piece for the Standard in which he trashes Guardiola and slags off City.

This is my favourite piece of tripe:-

"All they will do is give the player’s agent a bigger fee than the next club, he will then convince his client that’s the best move for him and talk up the fact it’ll probably be only one year out of Europe’s big competition".

We can add this to the litany of 'talk City down at any opportunity' garbage that has been the forte of the media.

Nice stuff 'Arry.

Twat :019: :068:

(oh and his assessment of the rag run in as being 'horrendous' is also risible)

It has been suspiciously quiet on that front no you come to mention it. None of the usual array of ex-rags crawling out from under their rocks and deliver their 'pearls of wisdom'. Not that I especially mis them of course.

Although I do note that the Telegraph ran a 'two page spread' (TM R5Live rag apologists) where Marcus 'the sun shines out of his arse' Rashford gives it large about what a hero Twatan is apparently. No 'gold taps', 'unwashed car travesty' or frequenting a Greggs bakery for this media idol. Oh no.

Open season on City, just a pity that we could not shut a few mouths, maybe next season, but I do think Pep has been naive on occasions and that has surprised me although I have put it down to stubbornness.

The media are quietly salivating at the prospect of Guardiola 'failing' and sense a perfect storm brewing what with his arch enemy and chief baiter rocking up at the Etihad tonight. Quick to criticise but less generous with any kind of in depth assessment of the task facing City's new coach I only recently heard any comment on the impact that Kompany's absences have had on the defense and the team. They want him to fall on his face and are waiting tpwith their pieces already saved and ready to hit 'send' once the final whistle blows tonight.

Let's make them have to do a rapid re-write!

Come on City!!!

Who has done the better job this season - Conte in a new league with a side that disappointed last season, Mourinho dragging the rags almost single handedly to the edge of the top four, Pochetino fusing Spud's array of defensive and attacking talent into cohesive unit to show last season was no flash in the pan or Gladiola, another in an unfamiliar league turning around City's fortunes after Pellegrini's calamitous final term. In the shadows Klopp has fumbled whilst Wenger has clung to his title of Premier League Grandee.

If anyone is 'salivating at the prospect of Guardiola failing' it might be because of the way we have set out our stall - everything put in place for Guardiola to arrive and take the league by storm, as he threatened to do back in Autumns heady daze. Let's face it, had it been any other club we would be falling over ourselves to rip the piss out of them. But then again football loyalties are tribal and show allegiance to neither rhyme nor reason.

Our decision early on to pursue PG as spender in chief of the oil billions has left us open to accusations of being overly prescriptive in our goals. Whilst he may well come good next season after having had a chance to spend squillions on the defence there is the suspicion that whilst we were transfixed by PG others have stolen a march and the game has moved on.

In the meantime presumably the rags will attempt to kick us off the park because lest we forget, we are the only team that attempts to play football. Anywhere. Ever.

As for 'Arry, he is old school; likes brown paper packages tied up with string, service stations and second hand car lots. He likes a deal does 'Arry, lot's of 'em.

It may be our ball but it's 'Arry's game. I'm just surprised he knows where Birmingham is...

"It didn’t stop United signing Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and it won’t stop City.
City badly need to finish fourth, at least, to avoid all that and I still think they can..."

So it's not that bad then 'Arry

I don't think it mattered who we got as Coach, we would still have been labelled as moneybags, whilst the media stand in awe when the rags pay multi millions for a guy they had on their books for free and then pay £300K a week to Twantan.

Conte will find it harder next season when he has to rotate his squad more often when Europe and a soft group are given to them.

Maureen, admittedly Twatan was a good signing, but without him would they have fared as well

Podgy, has a decent side, but should have stuck to the lane in European matches where they are most potent.

The Gooners, their saving grace was by the poor decisions Wenger has made, even the best of them make mistakes, but he benefited from the rub of the green on Sunday.

Liverpool, run hot and cold, they can build themselves up for the big games, but when it comes to the bread and butter, they have scrapped through.

City on the whole have been unlucky but, on more than one occasion not up for the game. I think PG has tinkered too much but he promises to get better.

Like C says we have to get into the top 4.

Conte clearly has done the best job so far and yes it will be tougher with European football and a couple of his stars maybe moving on. Without a top four finish our season will have to go down as a disaster judging by the standard applied to the Engineer. Would I want any of the other coaches at City, maybe Podgy!

I don't think Pep will be here for very long, especially if there isn't a massive improvement next season. So looking ahead, Podgy isn't a bad shout, but I admire Allegri and what he is doing at Juventus.

I think he'll be here for a while yet. Rumours of a contract extension this summer

I hadn't heard that CZ. Interesting.
I don't want him to go and an extension would be good news for the long term if what you say comes to pass.
