Harry Kane is 5th best player at World Cup

I've been slated in the past by Spurs fan mates when I say he doesn't seem to be a superstar type player. Don't get me wrong, he does what he does very well and that's score goals but I would never put him up there with Ronaldo, Messi, Bale, Lewendowski etc as they add the spectacular to their games.
Saying that, he is a must pick for England and probably would be for just about any other team at the WC as he is a prolific goalscorer. To say the 5th "best" is probably based on that but is he really THE 5th best player overall? Not sure about that. If he gets 6-7 goals and we win the thing then I'll take all that back and he'll be THE BEST in the world :wahey:

i am quite optimistic. I think we may concede some sloppy goals but score a few too. maybe after its over, if they did the list again, a couple more might sneak into it. The quarters are not beyond us and that would be a good step forward. i just want the football to be exciting.
 
No way you can compare Kane with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo as they are not target men.

What does impress me about Kane when he is on song is that his all round clever play reminds me of Terry Sheringham but he seems to score at a similar rate to Alan Shearer, so in some ways he combines both parts of the old SAS.

He definitely was not at his best near the end of the season though so I suspect he was carrying an injury. I just hope he will have shaken it off in time for the World Cup.
 
Not sure that Kane would do as well at another top club and I don't think Kane is either, given he has just signed a new 6 year deal at Spurs.
Their team is very much set up to play to his strengths.
Was woeful for England at the European Championships, now he has 2 years more experience, so hoping for better from him at the World Cup.
 
I see that total cunting cannibal is in there at 6. If ever there was a face you'd want to pulverise, that's it.
