Harris & Clemence

If true, it begs the question: ‘why would he take the job at Millwall in the first place when he knew that they had a DOF set-up?’. Perhaps he is the ‘thicko’!
I may be wrong, but I read his comments about "thickos" (in the plural) as referring to the fact that Millwall were missing Tanganga and couple of other key players and that the expectation (rather than hope) of a win was therefore too high.

I doubt that a DOF would be the one saying the team should have done better despite those injuries/suspensions.

Maybe he had a fan screaming in his ear as he was making his way to the tunnel. I seem to remember him telling one of our fans to UFO in a similar confrontation during that start to 2022/23.

If fans are abusive, biting your lip and staying schtum must be difficult.

The similarities between NH’s departure at Gillingham and Millwall are stark.

On both occasions the explanation has been that Gillingham/Millwall wish to go in a different strategic direction.

Reading between the lines, I don’t think NH likes working in a structure with a DOF. His relationship with Gallen (DOF at Millwall) had broken down. Rumour was that he and Jackett had issues at Gillingham.

Raises the question, dammit. Raises the question, not fails to address it.

Bomber Harris right? Chopper was Chelsea.

The chances of Harris replacing Bonner during the season is literally nil.
Mark was tasked with promotion and until it’s mathematically impossible, then he’ll continue.
However, if he’s unsuccessful of at least reaching the playoffs, he’ll be gone close season.
Reaching the playoffs and losing wont save Bonner, no promotion and he's history.

We’ve had a temporary manager and two permanent managers to try and coach Harris’ style of football out of the players. Why the fuck would we go back to it?!
Err, possibly for a Pulis type promotion?

As opposed to a Hess team type thrill ride that will continue to see us play against Accrington Stanley and other sides that mug us on the break.

If we are losing under either scenario the grumbles will start.

All out attacking alongside winning can be a more problematic pairing than some would believe, unless you splash unmaintainable mega cash.

We were going nowhere with Harris in charge but down, and in probably the worst football we’ve played for years.

Best of luck to Harris in finding a new job as soon as possible and putting a gentle end to the false hopes of some here. Do it for the Blues Rock Cafe Neil.

Don’t think anyone’s after “all out attacking” football. At least not me.

But it would just be nice to occasionally score 2 or 3 goals in some games rather than no more than 1. You know, like every other league side does.

We have not scored more than 1 goal in any game for 2 1/2 months FFS! In fact in 23 games in all comps we’ve only scored more than 1 goal in 3 games. That is simply bizarre and shocking no matter what excuse is given. And bear in mind I believe both Clem and MB were hired with an emphasis put on more goals, excitement and attacking play.

But it’s been ongoing for 3 or 4 seasons now.

You can change the players and managers. But changing the culture is much more difficult.

There’s more chance of Santa Claus getting down the chimney then Harris Ever coming back to Priestfield. It’ll will never , ever happen .

Down? You can't be talking about form as that was very good over his last nine months once he was given a few proper resources. Second or third best in the division.

Who knows whether that would have continued over an end to end season but it is also difficult to think it would have been impossible.

Yes, and everyone hankers after the days of Asaba and Taylor but, putting aside their abilities, as far as I remember they hardly missed any games as well as developing their understanding at both Brentford and the Gills.

Since Vadaine Oliver was injured in early 2022, I am struggling to remember a run of games where our strike force was fit and remained unchanged. The longest was probably the Hawkins and Nichols partnership and, guess what, we then pulled out of trouble, showing promotion form during that period. Start of the 2023/24 season Hawkins starts suffering from his plantar fascitis issue and is out until Christmas when Nichols leaves. Instead we have Bonne playing up front on his own as a target man, which I don't think he had ever done before.

This season, Andrews, Rowe and Nevitt have all become more familiar with the treatment room than the football pitch.

Has that been the fault of any of the managers?

He took us down once, and was looking likely to happen again, until the Galisons came along…
