Is that the club Elon Musk is planning to buy? He want to create a team made up of jack russels who can dribble with the ball and force the EFL to allow them to play each week.Nah football is great. It's just top level football that's fucked.
Going to take my boys to Bristol Rovers when they're old enough. Then they'll learn how to hate football in a whole different way.
I must be unwell because I agree mate, at some point I will stop going probably because I'm dead or can't walk anymore, but I'm not far away from being priced out of it. It's a massive part of my income now; I don't work, it would be like paying 4k for a season ticket when I was at work, and I wouldn't have done that.Yes. Had enough of football.
The money is obscene.
Most players are objectionable characters.
Agents are massive chunts.
The obession by the media over certain clubs is horrible.
Modern fans fed by and believing social media is laughable. Post 3 clips of player passing the ball 5 yards to sexy music makes people experts. As does playing fantasy football, FIFA and football manager computer games in your pants apparently.
The transfer windows are the single most damaging, irritating and worst things ever to happen in football.
Can't get enough of Villa though. At some stage, by choice or not, i will stop going to games. But even then I would never walk away from Villa. I'd watch us on a dog shit covered park pitch on a Sunday morning if it came to it.
That would still be classed as a linked deal for any uplift and you'd need a full Chinese wall in place and they haven't even addressed that, let alone proved it.My worry is that they are quite close to getting away with it. Most of breeches are the sponsor money. It sounds like if Abu Dabi gov give a grant to a company to enhance their profile then that might be ok. If that company decides to spend millions on sponsoring Man City then thats ok too. So they could have arranged all this legally.
Our only luck is that their arrogance seems like they didnt cover it all by doing that. They emailed each other and did it via the owners company and only later tried to claim it was by the Gov.
Ofc they also did lots of other stuff so still in trouble...but thay would have been at Chelsea level of punishment.
Are Newcastle watching all this?
Unless it does finally go bang now, it's only going to get worse - look at League 2 and non-league prices and that creep in the last few years.I must be unwell because I agree mate, at some point I will stop going probably because I'm dead or can't walk anymore, but I'm not far away from being priced out of it. I have limited time left on the planet, so I guess I keep going until I can't
Yes I remember about 15 years ago, going to watch Kiddy Harriers with my daughter and son-in-law, and I think it was 18 quid to get in.Unless it does finally go bang now, it's only going to get worse - look at League 2 and non-league prices and that creep in the last few years.
Attendance will die out.
We've always supported City as we have the same ambitions, I say we, I mean our ownersI've watched summat that indicates the key thing for Prem is breaking PSR. And Man City only did this even removing what was fake from 2014. So their first few trophies may stand.
For me the biggest thing is after 2018. Their sponsor money didnt really change (so still crooked?) and many more trophies then won. EVEN if they went legit it was built on team and success from the earlier dodgy period.
What im also not hearing is about all the prize money and cash for league position etc. Nine years mostly say in top 4, 3m a place innit...i can see that being £2-300m. To be given to all teams below them as recompence.
PS also heard only 4 clubs registered an interest to sue....why didnt we? 6yr limitation may mean too late. So big 4 gonna get a huge cash boost and they end up even further ahead.
I've got less time than you mate, but have too agree with you and @Melon Donkey, football in general I've had enough of but Villa, I can't get enough of. You can't erase 65 years just like that.I must be unwell because I agree mate, at some point I will stop going probably because I'm dead or can't walk anymore, but I'm not far away from being priced out of it. It's not like there's a cure.....and not even any research into finding one. It's such a major disease, shouldn't we set up a crowd funding page to help the afflictedPretty much with a few others. Don't like football as an industry etc but I'll watch Villa until the day I die. Been going 58 years now and I can't and won't ever give them up .
I dread to think what it is now. Inflation will play it's part, but it correlates.Yes I remember about 15 years ago, going to watch Kiddy Harriers with my daughter and son-in-law, and I think it was 18 quid to get in.
And deception removes the 6 year block. We've always supported City as we have the same ambitions, I say we, I mean our owners
