Honestly mate, you didn't know Weller was in The Jam?

One of the best bands Britain has produced in my humble.

The Style Council were good, more a singles band in my ever so humble, their albums have a good few fillers.

His solo work is exemplary right up to his last few, 22 Dreams, Wake Up The Nation and his recent Sonik Kicks.
 
Oh and The Jam started in the 70's btw.

Had 3 straight in at number 1 hits in a row if memory serves me right.

I didn't know exactly how many number ones luv some of his music tbh, by chance i saw him in the Style Council band from the 80's and i couldn't believe it was Weller, i was like :155: Just wouldn't have thought he would have done that type of pop

The Jam were just a perfect band, fabulous, was a major shock when Weller split them up, as they seemed to be at their height. Amazing to think he's had three successful music incarnations isn't it? Most couldn't even dream of one as good as his let alone x 3 !
 
First band I ever saw live. Met Paul Weller in a curry house in Selly Oak about 3yrs ago, very pleasant chap considering I'd got the impression he wasn't approachable. Had a pic taken with him, arm over each other's shoulders, and for a guy in his mid fifties he's a surprisingly muscular specimen. Not usually star struck, but PW was my big hero growing up from about 9 to 14.

There defo ain't many i can think of at the top of me head who have done such a wide range of careers tbh, Ocean Colour Scene always reminded me of Paul Weller type music and sound when i was growing up in the 90's very similar, luv ''That's Entertainment'' and ''Goin Underground'' proper Brit songs.
 
Yeah, guitarist Steve craddock (who my mate the chauffeur accidentally left at a motorway service station recently :3: ) plays for Weller as well.

Yup. Late at night after an OCS concert. Steve Craddock needed to get to the airport to get over to join up with Weller. Dave stopped at a services for a wee, asked his client if he needed anything, he didn't, he was kipping.

Wee, back in car, off he went. Then a phone call. I'm in the car park with no shoes on!!

He's so meticulous, immaculate and professional as well, so he would have been very embarrassed ... Doesn't stop me ripping the piss though,only fair!!!
