Is it true only 6k tickets have been sold so far?

I'd imagine there will be a lot more there on the day, despite the fact that many will be on their holidays etc.

 
Let's hear it today Ladies and Gentlemen for the man who singlehandedly saved Aston Villa in the middle 80's as the club had completely lost the plot under Ellis who made some disastrous managerial decisions in appointing a succession of duds in Graham Turner and Billy McNeill leaving Sir Graham to pick up the pieces and comment "This place is a shambles" - Graham Taylor shortly after taking over in 1987."

I met Graham along with some other supporters ( Even The Fear attended!) who were invited to Bodymoor Heath early 2000's and it is a day I will proudly remember being able to talk with the great man one to one about all things AVFC.

I left feeling 10 feet tall and feeling so important which is how Graham was with people......Absolutely anybody from Doris making the tea to royalty felt privileged to have met the man and I still find it strange and sad to think he is no longer with us.

Thanks for saving our great club Graham and all the wonderful work you did at Watford FC :1:

Yes , glad they have organised this game and that it will be played on an annual basis.

Looking forward to this as well , can't wait to go to the hallowed ground once again.
 
Be interesting what team is put out today. A win would be most welcome.

Got to speak and email with Graham a bit and he was an absolute gent and very trusting (he knew I was protesting and that I ran a website/had good press coverage but trusted me with off the record conversations)
 
Any truth that we have only sold 6k of tickets . I'm not going as it's my Granddaughter first birthday and my Son is on Holiday . Plus I won't get "my" seat .
Season tickets haven't come either Typical Villa a week from the big KO and no tickets !!

Apparently they are expecting quite a few ticket sales today , but as of Tuesday only 6k had been sold. Mind you I didn't get mine until Wednesday.
 
I know Sir Den but my Son is in Portugal until the 7th and all 3 season tickets are going to his house , He lives 20 miles away and I'm having to go and check his post next week to see if they have come ! (He's missing the First match .)
I just assumed they'd be here in very good time for the match not a couple of days before
 
Yes it says they have been delayed because of the new ticket thingy and the way they are operating it this year. Seems it is doubling up as a cash card as well so you can use it to buy merchandise as well.

So other than Gabby what other selections suggest Bruce has had a mental breakdown? Johnstone injured, Kodjia injured, Jedinak injured? Other than Gabby and possibly Hutton which other selections are such a major surprise? Or is it any old excuse to bash the manager before a ball has been kicked in anger?
 
Gabby misses a one on one after 90 seconds. Some things never change.
Only changes I'd have would be Bree in for Hutton, why did we sign Bree if he isn't going to replace someone who won't be here next season? And Hogan in for Gabby.
