One of my best ever Villa days with Graham Taylor.
For around 10 minutes we stood on the touchline at Bodymoor Heath watching the players train and having a great talk about Aston Villa.
He was a good man with a special presence about himself and who talked to you like a close friend and left you feeling like an important person.
Even now I still find it difficult to think he is no longer alive. He died far too young.
The photo below was from his second time as our manager in the 2002/3 season.
I've put it up before on here however any excuse to show it again is okay for me as the smile on my face with Graham shows my happiness from a special day.
Remember Graham's story as to when he gave Doug a list of targets after a disappointing season. When GT returned for pre season training, he was gobsmacked to find that Ellis hadn't even opened the envelope. And some still laud Doug.?
I suppose that's nice, but don't see the need to mention how he was sacked for not reaching the world cup. So many achievements in the game, so many lives touched and yet included in a three-sentence commemorative tribute....
