Good Morning Thread

Good morning to all my fellow reasonably happy Yid oppo's.

One of my Daughter's made her usual visit to us yesterday, her n mum had their usual chat/gossip as I watched the World Snooker & Listened to our game.

Anyway this is for TQ cos the Daughter said she was going down your way next weekend for a 4 day American Country Music themed Hen Night.
It appears they are staying at an 8 bedroom gaff, between Yeovil & Crewkerne, all meals included, guest artists, teachers, ie Line Dancing etc.

When she told us the cost each I thought that ain't bad..£250 each, not bad eh!👌

🥃 cheers all...COYS🤞🤞

Sounds good PY, she will still be a fair way from me, Yeovil is about a 75 minute drive away. £250 for 4 days, full board, and the music/dancing is pretty decent these days, hope they all enjoy it.

Had some great food in the UK including a couple of great Sunday roasts at a couple of different pubs. The beef dip at The Audley was also really good. Best meal Chez Dominique in Bath. The best prepared duck I can recall having.

However, the fascination with french fries and the absolute INABILITY to produce a decent steak is a national disaster! But we did have fun trying to find a place where you could get a decent salad. Greek and Italian restaurants where the best options.

Oh, and being unable to find a simple black coffee because everyone has invested in espresso machines was also a bit of a nuisance.

Business idea...sell filtered coffee to North American tourists and advertise it as drip coffee...they'll understand that. Throw in a few fatty donuts (NA spellling) and you'll have a winner.

WUM!

Unlike PY or TQ to be absent from the thread. Hope you are OK guys?
I'm a happy bunny today. Two wins on the trot and my ear is healing up nicely after the radiotherapy.
Still here LT, not been much to engage with for a few days, our attention has been firmly on the upcoming games.

Good to hear you are healing nicely!

Good morning campers!

I had a great day in Cornwall yesterday, two of my sisters and their husbands are down for a weeks holiday from their homes in West Sussex so couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a catch up with them. It included a very leisurely 2 hour lunch (with much banter) in the nearest Weatherspoons which was my first eating experience with the chain, have to say they are excellent value for money.

A couple of years ago I had what you would call an experience, 2 to be exact, at the Spoons place 3 shops up from my usual watering hole!

1st one went there for brekkie, when I said to the waiter geezer thats the starters where is the rest, he wasn't best pleezed:wahey:

2nd With a couple of oppo Vets, ex military, we went to the same Spoons, they wouldn't let us in cos we were in uniform, best pleezed wasn't our reaction, verbal anglo saxon followed etc.
We were all in uniform following the Commemoration service for VE Day, this weekend by the way, Friday!

Anyway TQ 🥃cheers n have a good rest of day...COYS🤞

Sorry you had poor experiences at Spoons PY, the breakfast guy was probably stressed if it was busy, either that or he didn't have a sense of humour or had heard that joke millions of times!

Not letting someone in because they are in uniform?

They should be boycotted.
They were 80, it was happening everywhere, we later found out, but give their owner/boss his dues he came out and publicly apologised to all us Vets and said heads would roll for this, which I think did happen cos I haven't seen the geezer who stopped us entering since. 🥃cheers 80...COYS🤞

I was going to say, I'm sure the boss Tim Martin wouldn't have condoned that, he is a staunch supporter of our service personnel.
