Going off coffee

Juan Mourep

Vital 1st Team Regular
For the last 20 mins I have been trying to read a few threads, nearly every click results in a screen telling me that my java is out of date and to update it to view this page, reality is I know that my java is not out of date, it also seems to only be happening on VV, clicked on many newsnow links and no problem, come back on here and suddenly my java needs updating, this is my 4th shot at posting this thread, wish me luck!

It also says press ok to continue, with the update button visible on the back screen, as soon as you press ok it downloads.

Is this just me? Or a vital bug?

Here is the URL

Go onto java.com to see if you need to update (unlikely). That website looks dodgy, never download stuff off sites like that. I don't want to click on the link but it's probably some sort of virus/malware that should be avoided. Run a virus scan immediately. I have not had any pop ups or redirects on vital villa recently so it could be your computer.

Edit: now I'm getting the same redirect as you. Fuck sake it is rather annoying, hopefully it's just an annoying redirect from a dodgy "advert"rather than a virus.

I checked, I was up to date, I only put the URL up for Feario & Co, I thought it may be useful.

It is a known problem we've been ... sorry, our advertisers have been grappling with for a few days. One of the lower tier advertisers must have this scam advert inserted.

Should have put a thread up myself so apologies.

Cheers Juan

I did have it and ignored it though it kept me off VV for a while.

Have turned the adverts off yet again, so if anyone gets it now can they let me know please, but when we've turned off before the issue has gone.

adverts going back on, they think they have tracked down the problem.

Any repeats, please let me know.

Fingers crossed.

Go to control panel>programs & features, and uninstall java, then go to java download page and reinstall. I have had several customers who have had fake messages to update java and flash player. This will infect your computer with malware and will need cleaning.

I didn't think it would/should unless they actually went through and downloaded.

Sorry folks, thought the advertisers had tracked down the culprit, back to the drawing board for them.

Ive not seen this advert tbh, anyway coffee gis me the shits just thought i would share that with you, have a good day ;)

Why does 80% of your posts give me a mental picture of your arse? :21:

HAHA I'm sure he's a very desirable guy but i'm getting a bit to old in the tooth for new adventures.
