Goals scored

The Imposter

Vital 1st Team Regular
I did a chart the other day about goals conceded – well, here's one for when we score (league only):
Goals scored (in mins intervals)
0-10: 5
11-20: 2
21-30: 1
31-39: 3
40-45: 2
46-50: 3
51-60: 3
61-70: 4
71-80: 9
81-90: 10

Pretty wide spread there, but what stands out greatly, is the amount we score in the last 20 minutes of games – 19 of our 42 goals have come between the 71st minute and full-time, again another example of how fit and switched-on our players are.

This is the kind of thing I can understand, unlike those weird X-factor graphs.

Also, to add substance to the 'Brennan Johnson is fatigued and needs a rest' argument... he hasn't found the net for 826 minutes (9 games).

He has also spent the majority of that time outside of the LW position he’d been in allost all season. He’d played deeper in the midfield and wide right to accommodate Rogers.

Still learning his game and he is contributing to the team even if he’s not on the scoresheet.

Our record in the second half of games is by far the best in the division, just like our away record.

Noticing 2 out of last 3 goals poachers tap ins from Scully that’s one thing Johnson could add to his game. Although to be fair we probably don’t have anyone else who would have scored those goals.

My main learnings from this are as follows:

1. I should be ready at kick-off and keep watching until the end.

2. The best time to go for a pee or get another drink is between 11 and 30 minutes.

3. I won't miss too much if I leave my seat early to beat the queues for the gents or a half-time pint.

This is the kind of information that is useful! Especially for those in the Senility stand.

Between 21-30 minutes we've scored one and only conceded one - definitely the time for a comfort break

Goals conceded is fairly spread out - but only let in six in the last half hour while scoring 23 is quite handy!

Actually the first hour of matches we've scored 19 and conceded 17, then usually hit the afterburners - fairly good reflection of recent games
