Will Grigg vs Man City for me purely down to the occasion and the fact that the world and his wife sat up and became a Wigan fan for that night.

League goal is Gavin Massey against Fleetwood away.

Agree with the two from Sid.

A Nathan Byrne goal would be great to see too.

Some others courtesy of the 2017/2018 Wigan Athletic scoring machine:

Defensive player goals:
Any Dan Burn or Chey Dunkley goal

I was there to witness it goal:
David Perkins vs Blackpool (Would love one vs Doncaster)

Outside the area scorcher:
Lee Evans scorcher vs Bury (Home)
Max Power scorcher vs Wimbledon (Away)

Man of the moment:
Ryan Colclough vs Doncaster Rovers (Home)

Cheekiest:
Alex Bruce vs Rotherham (Away)

Goat to Hero in 46 minutes:
Chey Dunkley vs Blackpool (Away)

Miss of the season:
Gary Roberts vs the relegated MK Dons (Home)
Nick Powell vs Walsall (Home)
Will Grigg / Gavin Massey vs Bristol Rovers (Home)

Assist of the season:
Jamie Jones to Nick Powell vs Scunthorpe (Away)
Nathan Byrne to Will Grigg's head vs West Ham
Max Power to Callum Elder vs Bournemouth
Max Power to Michael Jacobs vs Rotherham (Away)

Anyone care to add ?

wow OLFE youve just broght back some goals id forgot abuot over the seeson. i like the wey youve broke them down into what makes them special. like perkins goal. not spectacular but oh what a feeling. and the wet the pants moment that was grigg against city.

outside the area goal for me goes to max. and have you noticed that for some reason he had his wings clipped (i wonder by who tho) and wouldnt shoot from outside the box for a while. it looks as if cook has let him off the leesh and told him to shoot on site and i put his confidence boost down to that.

a compilateon video of them goals would go down a treat.

cheers

Squabbling?

For me a goal I particularly liked was the Grigg opener against Oldham, not for the finish but the excellent interchanges that preceded it between the scorer and Powell.

In regards assists the beautiful touch from Grigg to set up Jacobs last minute winner against Bradford stands out, as does coles assist for the oxford winner.

As for the stand out goal probably the Evans one from distance against bury.

Got to be the one from Perks at Blackpool. Firstly, what a feat to score while in the middle of a severe nose-bleed (from being so far up the pitch), secondly for going against every instinct in his body, screaming for him to pass, but most importantly for the subsequent celebrations of unbridled joy it caused.

David Perkins, we salute you.

I'd add Lee Evans' strike against Crawley Town in the FA Cup 1st round, and Gavin Massey's assist to Nick Powell against MK Dons.

My memory sucks but Grigg scored a sensational team goal which involved 6 or 7 players. My be going over the top there.

i like your stile of thought FLC. lots of people just think of the end product when going for goal of the seeson. but sometimes the deft flick into goal after seeing some grate play and build up when it gets you from the back of the seat to the middle to the edge then jumping up into the air can also be rite up there.

either Massey v Fleetwood or Grigg v West Ham, the opener, perfect cross, strong win in the air and he arrowed the header through a tiny gap.

Had another good look and there's some belters. Regarding Massey's first touch..total fluke he was even looking forward and it just clipped his running heel.

Stick with Jacobs as it broke a tight game.

The club have obviously based their shortlist on this thread (with the exception of ex-player Lee Evans)
Well done everyone, what a cracking clip.Screenshot_20180430-201316.png

Grigg against City just for the sheer magnitude of it, but my actual favourite one was Grigg against Oldham.
