Gills vs. Paid the bills

Think we'll lose this one 3-1, Oliver wins more headers then any other forward in l1, over 11 a game. Scored 13 and assisted 5, with Graham scoring 10, assisting 6, Akinde scoring 7, assisting 3 and Dempsey's scored 8, assisting 4 they've got more firepower then we do.

Hope we win but think this will be a tough game, hopefully we put in a great performance and it doesn't matter how they play.

Thanks for the stats Vic sounds like an aerial bombardment incoming 3 CBs in order and pity that Wooten is done in that case.
Back 5 and wing backs stopping crosses coming in essential though we haven't been good at that so far !

Hope the potential of a new contract has the opposite effect Arthur !

They will get their wish after this season ends,
let's see what other Clubs will give them a contract.

No problem, early game too at 5:30. Oliver and Graham currently in league one team of the season through sky sports.

Last time we lost 3-2, they were playing 433 back then but they've played 442 in their past 3.

Portsmouth, Doncaster and Sunderland next, 4 tough games coming up. The approach to these games will be interesting because we've been timid against weakened teams. But we've played better against teams higher up the table.

We played a back 5 against Accrington and didn't stop any crosses, so it's less about the formation and more about making whatever we choose to play actually work.

Stopping deep crosses from full backs was something we were bad for under Cook and it has persisted under Richardson, our wingers are often very slow to close down the full backs and give them so much time and space. Leicester used to do that as a deliberate tactic with Huth and Morgan, to funnel attacks into the areas they felt strong. We used to do the same when we won L1 but the big difference was Burn and Dunkley were so dominant in the air that it posed minimal threat - but when your as disorganised on crosses as we are our only option is to stop them coming in the first place.

But it was still individual errors that did for us, perhaps if we had a goal keeper that thought diving on the ball was better than kicking out at it in a crowded area the result against Accrington may have had a different look about it.

I honestly thought the Stanley game was massive, we already beat them this season whilst they were at full strength, in the return game they had over half their 1st team missing and we went with such a defensive gameplan. A style of play they've used all season and we've tried a couple times. Stantley conceded 17 goals in their past 5 games and we only scored 1 of them. Shows the approach we took to the game. Rovers scored 4, dons 3, sunderland 2 and peterborough 7.

9 games to go, everything to play for. Lets hope for some good performances and a bit of luck because we're currently still in the mix with the bottom 6.

We struggle the worst against physical teams so these lot should really bully us into submission and win comfortably. However, with Tilt and Johnston as the CB pairing and Wooton nowhere to be seen, we may have a better chance.

The fact that this is probably one of our easier games left speaks volumes as to how hard our run-in is. We need a point at least.

It's a 'backs to the wall game' for us, they have some big lads up front,
let's hope our defence can frustrate them and our forwards can score any
chances when they get the opportunity.

It looks like a point for us, but at this stage of the season and our run in solitary points are no good.

We can take all three. Some of these lads are fighting for new contracts to be part of the new chapter. I’m expecting to see the players well up for this one
