Mercifully I missed today and I share your frustration with JET, a massive waste of talent and second only to Adebayor as the laziest player in football history. However, the rest of the team, almost without exception, is an aimless shambles and at least he's scored a few goals.

This season I think Wagstaff (when fit) and recently Dack, now he seems to be getting his fitness back, are the only players who I've been satisfied with. The rest are a mess and the "tactics" bizarre IMO.

Atrocious. Really, really bad.

My thoughts for what they're worth: We miss Dack massively. It's an obvious one but we are so creatively lacking and offer nothing going forward without him or any kind of bite in midfield. Like Fox said the 3 mids are effectively the same person, and offer hardly anything though at least Hess had a bit of a go a couple of times.

Jet was a joke, Laziest player ever, the most he runs is when he's going over to take the free kicks, billy bog bollocks in the extreme. Him and Nouble did nothing upfront, though at least Nouble puts some effort in, would have liked to see Nouble and Cody upfront together, Jet on the bench.

Cargill playing at left back basically meant we had no left back and no centre back because Oshilaja has been awful since the start of the season and Cargill isn't an lb. A soon as I saw that formation I feared the worst. It shows how good Egan was that we miss him both as a player, and that he made others look good beside him.

Oxford were solid, functional, nothing special but coulda had 4/5 if they could finish, it was that bad. 1-0 flattered us.

 
Agree with most of the posts in this thread, apart from a shout for Byrne, who I thought battled and fought well for most of the game and showed a lot of passion that most of the others didn't. As the smallest player on the pitch, he even got up a couple of times to win headers (and tackled back on quite few occasions) which puts Jet to shame as he's the tallest player who won nothing in the air, even ducking out of headers most of the time.

Our midfield without Dack today was so pedestrian. Hess and Wright were poor, showing little passion and constantly passing sideways and backwards, with little creativity at all. Never realised how much we would miss Bradley.
 
Yes, Byrne tried, as he often does, but he is out of his depth, he is a mid table Division 2 player at best.
 
I'm usually looking for the positives after every game, and sad to say that yesterday I was only really glad we weren't playing Bolton, Scunthorpe, or anyone else that would've taken 6 goals home given the Gills performance. I thought Deji was good for Deji's skill level but even at his best gets sent off. No coherent strategy up front and not much more at the back apart from being in position for Oxford's lack of quality strikes.
