Good viewing as always Jack. Your comments re the Town End I think are valid & possibly could well explain our sluggish starts to home matches. Wouldn't be a proper episode without mention of the self service pumps!

Personally I wouldn't prefer him to come back and am not pining for him, but if you asked me is it working under Clemence - I would say no. So by that marker I would say that getting rid of Harris when we did wasn't wise. We have wrecked our own season really by doing so.

I’m really reluctant to get on Clemences back but think his pre match comments about how great Wrexham are and “hopefully “ we can have more attacking intent then Tuesday were worryingly uninspiring. I also agree with what you said about the lack of connect between the supporters and this current team, I can’t think of a time either when no one has sung the managers name and there is no real connection between us and the team. With the amount of money spent it’s all weirdly bleak (and Hessy and Jackett have to take a fair bit of the blame given their central role in assembling this team.)
Still, off the field the Galinson’s are great and I’m sure they’ll get it right- doubt that’ll be this season though.

We don't know all the facts but my own opinion for what it is worth is Harris spent too bigger percentage of the budget on players who were not likely to score goals.For me the most likely reason is budget management.Thats why Jackett now appears to have a greater say.The decision was to grow more naturally not to try to buy success at any price.

The sacking of Harris was madness simply for its timing. It disrupted everything from pre season preparation to stopping any momentum we had gained in its tracks.
Not having someone lined up to immediately take over compounded the error.
Clemence can do no wrong this season. I'll judge him by where we are next Christmas.

Always a good watch, like your input Jack, always well worded. Think Mat should learn, as my gripe with him, is he always answers his own questions and doesn’t let someone answer
I don’t really get the constant upset regarding jacket and Hess. Before Brad we basicallly had nothing, no recruitment and no structure. Jacket in the forum did say he was spreading himself thinly. So it’s a start we are slowly building something. It’s not perfect but we are starting to look at young players and I quite like that and unfortunately it will take time and this won’t be quick enough for many. Also jacket stated in the forum about players contracts and learning about this. So I see this the gradual retirement of Scally as he will probably be the one in charge of this side. Think it’s baby steps and we will grow the recruitment side, I think many underestimate building from nothing, granted the name dropping of players, which insiders think we were after and we don’t get has put pressure on them. But we don’t know who and if we could have afforded them. Brad is minted but wants it all to be done sensibly.
Anyway just my opinion

Me too Archie.
Madness to dump a manager without a plan unless it’s gross misconduct or something.
We have paid the price for it.
Fortunately, we’re still in contention so it might pan out ok but it was still an enormous gamble.
Ref to Clem, I think if we don’t finish in the top seven, he’ll get binned and we’ll go back to an experienced league manager.
Just my opinion.

I can see that happening too. I really don't like the modern game in that respect. I much prefer a manager/ coach be given 3 years.
Year1 to see what you've got and what you haven't
Year 2 to get your guys in and establish your "style of play"
Year 3 go for broke.

Possibly because the fans want everything instantly .

BG is trying something different he has started but his plan takes time . Frankly we are never going to buy our way up the leagues short of having silly money from outside the club.Which can suddenly disappear leaving clubs worse off and possibly disappearing out of existence.
Perhaps I am starting to be glad I can't afford to get down for a few weeks.Frankly the current way BG is being treated is making me feel sick and angry.

Yes when you look at their comparative points per game (for this season) then it seems likely we’d have had more points now if we’d kept Harris, but the powers that be decided he had to go, for whatever reason!
The protracted search for his replacement suggests it was a snap decision although I know Brad has said he wouldn’t have wanted to appoint someone else behind Harris’ back.

How is the way BG is being treated making you feel sick and angry? Genuine question I just don’t see that he’s being treated badly. He’s pretty much universally loved by the support (rightly so).

Since BG came in, Harris was given 9 months of assessment before a decision was made despite the club being in a reasonable position and having clearly improved since January 2023. That is the level of time and trust that was placed and invested in him.
Clem deserves the same period, but why should he get MORE time if things on the pitch are no better, and may even be slightly worse by then?
Considering we were only outside the play off positions on goal difference when NH's time was up, we would have to actually reach the play offs for it to be a statistical improvement. If we do, SC will have done his job and deserve extra trust and patience beyond the 9 months. Simple as that.

I believe he has appointed Clemence and said as much as it is wise to say about changing to a more long term policy of development and gradual improvement.Meanwhile fans are wanting to attack the whole approach of Clemence and even saying the B G should not have sacked Harris.In my opinion that is attacking the chairman and undermining his work.Over about 27 years Scally lost the faith of fans I totally get that .The way things have started I can see Brad and Shannon not sticking around if they get anywhere near the same sort of treatment.I fear defeat tomorrow the mood might turn nasty .
Is that something I enjoy?
No.
it makes me angry and sad.That there is so much entitlement.

So by even questioning Clemence’s record so far (surely that’s reasonable we’ve only won 3 times in the league at home since he took over 4 months ago, the most recent being a scrappy 1-0 win against Suttton in December) that’s “attacking “ the chairman? That just doesn’t make sense . Surely everyone massively appreciates Brad and Shannon’s efforts, but you’re allowed to make observations that may be negative about the management. If that makes Brad and Shannon want to not stick around it would just remind me of Scally’s brattish behaviour nearer the end where no one could say anything negative without him getting in a childish strop. These people are business people, they understand they’ll make decisions that won’t always be right and when they do they’ll need to correct them. I’m hopeful this isn’t one of those times and all will work out well for Clemence but, it has not been a good opening 4 months for him and not it’s unreasonable / attacking to point that out.
