Gills fans survey

I loved the "how long have you been dissatisfied with Scally?" question where there is no option to say you aren't dissatisfied.

When they publish, I will be interesting to see if they release all the answers given as percentages or just comment on the answers that suit their agenda.

Yes i made exactly that comment directly to the person who made the survey. They cant expect scally to take it seriously if it's so loaded against him in the first place.

I agree that a loaded survey on a page who’s sole aim is to protest to get Scally out isn’t going to get the best responses to work with. I like the idea of a general independent survey of Gills fans though, with issues ranging from the Chairmanship and reaction to recent decisions, opinions on the FL and safe standing, some polls on ideas to improve many things like the Player of the Year award do, season ticket pricing etc. If this ticket was adopted but only in the Town End, would you still take up the offer in the Winter? Choice of drinks in the Factory, etc. Who knows, even a little info saying how far you live from Priestfield, how you get to games etc, how you choose what games you go to etc.

All good points Trev, sensible and constructive, but this is the Connect cabal we're talking about so a neutral approach is a pipe dream.

Most of these surveys are utterly meaningless and, in this case as Phil wrote, it's the Connect lot. I recently visited my local hospital for a CT scan and was presented with a survey to complete. One of the questions was: 'would you recommend this service to a friend or relative?' Oh yes, just pop along for a CT scan........ I do recognise the staying power of the Connect lot; what is it now, over twenty years of Scally bashing?

I’m at work so I haven’t done the survey yet, but how do either of you know this is done by the ‘Connect lot’? I’m pretty sure the T4CGFC group are nothing to do with Gillsconnect, the GISC or anyone associated with them.

I am not sure it’s much to do at all with the gills connect lot whoever you’re referring to there. Alan Liptrott (the bloke who used to run Gills connect and the GISC) has literally nothing to do with this latest push.

It’s just a bunch of fans who are very vocal on social media. Actually a lot of the most vocal I would associate more with the gate 13 wannabes if i was to associate them with any 'group' of gills fans that people may recognise (as you’ll see from the flags they have).

Surveys are lazy, manipulative rubbish. They generate meaningless data and present it as collective opinion. When asked to respond to this statement, 87 percent chose "strongly agree" so the facts back me up.

This survey is so bad it's laughable! It's so damn bad, that I genuinely implore you to check out just how bad a survey can be, and leave some shitty comments where you can.

There's a reason a lot of surveys will offer a statement, then us the old strongly agree to strongly disagree, with an N/A option in there too, it's fair.

Normally a survey says under a heading regarding [say] satisfaction 0=totally dissatisfied progressing to 10=totally satisfied. This survey gave few options other than to largely express the level of dissatisfaction.

Cannot be arsed. Just how many fans that actually go to games will complete the survey?
As i have said before, do the fans organising this actually vocally support the team during home games or just wait for a chance to boo as it legitimises their beliefs?
Supporting the team by making a positive atmosphere may just make an improvement but of course that takes effort!

I did it because I was curious but I suspect it will not be random and, therefore, not representative of fans' views.

Response options are so loaded that it lacks credibility. Not that I think the dear leader would take a blind bit of notice of it anyway.

It would be nice if Scally did listen to the fans (customers) views on things like replica kit / merchandise and season ticket packages but I am not sure that he would until sales drop significantly. Durham alluded to the fact that Walsall make more from their advertisement board than they do the football. Just how important are ticket sales now compared to other forms of income. How much does off field activities (conferencing etc.) bring in compared to ticket sales these days.

If you had to investment in the business would it be to increase ticket sales or increase use of the conference facilities. I have no idea just asking.
