We get this every year. Nobody knows what any squad will be like, or how they perform in pre season games. This is just bookies trying to create a market. Only mugs would place a bet on next season this early.

Unless they knew a club was massively over priced. I.e. there may well be a few clubs at much longer odds who may be in financial woes or something that the bookies have not considered.

Exactly. You can’t say the bookies have been lazy with structuring their odds then say only mugs would place bets. This is the time to place a bet if with a bit local knowledge you think the odds offer value before the market settles. I’d buy a finish above 23rd. Crazy optimistic that I am I might stretch to 20th.

I think the odds are based on the playing budgets of each club. With Accrington’s promotion, we may actually not have the lowest budget in the league next season, Accrington will likely be that team. So Accrington are favourites for the drop, and Gills the second favourites.
