German Tour

Watched the first half on the stream and was really unimpressed by Remi Matthews - he looked way way below standard, should have saved the 2nd goal and his kicking/passing was utterly awful.

If his kicking/passing is always that bad it makes sense as to why we've been linked with a goalkeeper so heavily. Only one half of course, but he didn't look near the standard needed at all

I think Remi needs to step it up and if he can't handle this pressure then I think I'll have to say that we will need a new GK. It is his first big chance at the club he loves and it must be difficult because he probably knows the club are looking at that department and sometimes it takes players a bit of time (I remember de Gea at United started slowly as did Schmeichel who Man city just thought would never be a good GK). I would give him these games. Trouble is we only have two more after this tour and would it be an issue to bring in a new GK so close to the season?

Giving Pukki the maybe the next Holt title or ready is a bit much in my view. He might do well against lower German sides but how will he do in the championship. I hope he sets up his own history and is the next Pukki :-) and not the next Holt,

The U23s won their match 2-1 and Martin played. Spyrou seems a decent player scoring the winner. Idah forced the second. I was hoping Idah would be with the 1st team but obviously not.

Matt Gill doesn't seem to think any more of his u23 squad will be moving, well he hopes not:

'The new lads settled in fantastically well. With all the loan business getting done early this year, it allows our group to be a bit more settled. I think the group will now stick together this coming year and that will put us in a good position going forward.'

Godfrey as a central defender I just don't get? He played as a defensive midfielder last season to rave reviews and DF is doing an AN and playing him as a defender?

DF in 1st half gone with his one up top and second Pukki joins Rhodes and we looked better and score.

1-1 Rhodes

Line up so far:

Matthews

Marshall
Klose
Godfrey
Aarons

Thompson

Passlack
McLean
Cantwell
Pukki

Rhodes

4-1-4-1

Now it is more 4-3-3 with Pukki left - Rhodes central - Passlack Right.

Interesting that Marshall is at right back and Passlack more attacking.

Berlin score again 2-1. It isn't a good sign that we are still making silly mistakes and letting in goals

Hernandez, Zimmermann, Husband, Leitner on Passlack, Aarons, Klose, Thompson off.

Aarons playing left back is also an odd one but he can do it which is great.
