George Baldock

statement from the family of George Baldock...

"We are heartbroken with the sudden passing of our beloved George. We can confirm that a post-mortem examination has found that George tragically drowned whilst swimming in the pool at his home in Glyfada, Athens.

George, you were the most special father, fiancé, son, brother, uncle, friend, teammate and person. Your enthusiasm and infectious personality brought so much love to those that were fortunate enough to know you and those that adored you from the stands. We will forever cherish the special memories we have of you and you will continue to live on in your beautiful son. You were due to fly home today for us to celebrate his first birthday together, but instead we mourn your loss.

As a family it has been incredibly touching, but equally so very difficult to read the huge number of tributes written by those that knew George and from those whose life he touched. It was impossible not to love him. We ask that you please continue to respect our privacy at this devastating time as we begin to process our grief."

Oh dear.

'Police investigating the drowning of footballer George Baldock have recovered CCTV showing him swimming in the pool at his luxury Greek apartment, stopping suddenly and then sinking.

The development came just hours after local media claimed in an unconfirmed report Baldock had sent a message to a teammate saying, he was 'killing the vodka' and a bottle of spirts and a glass were found at the scene.

Sources say the CCTV from a neighbouring property captures half the pool and shows him entering the water at about 6.45 on Wednesday evening - his son's first birthday it is believed - and he is seen swimming vigorously up and down for ten minutes.

The clip, which was recovered by police after ex Sheffield United defender Baldock was discovered in the pool at 10.30pm, is key to establishing what happened although officials are confident there is no foul play.'

I really, really hoped it was not like this. But nothing else seems likely. Suicide? No way. Accident and head bang or passing out drunk - when alone? Also extremely unlikely. He's basically the last player I'd expect that of.

I've also seen it reported that there was no water in his lungs - awaiting confirmation there. Yet they announced drowning as the cause of death. Is it possible they did this just because it was easy, convenient, and less controversial?

I know this is all sensitive stuff but no one can pretend they haven't wondered just how the hell this has happened and that they wouldn't like to know.

I share you concerns regarding the Covid vaccination programme Chronic - from personal experience - but one things for sure, we will never know the truth.

However, I think its a big leap of faith to link it George's death at this very early stage. Let's see what the authorities unearth, although its Greece so not holding my breath for anything of significance any time soon.

Didzy scored a late leveller for notts county against chezzy he dedicated the goal to the baldock family in the after match interview admitted to having a tough few days
Ill bet with how us that didn’t really know him felt his ex team mates will be feeling it more for sure
As for the how’s and why’s I’m not going to speculate there’s nowt to be gained from guesswork I’ll wait for the official verdict how ever long it takesIMG_4121.jpeg

If it's in any way linked to the safe and effectives, we'll be waiting forever. They'll go to any length to keep it quiet. We're supposed to believe that all these post 2020 sudden young deaths are just coincidences. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to know, and speculating, given how routinely we are now denied the truth.

Even if it was or could be released, there's a good chance the family would want to keep it quiet or would be asked to keep it quiet.
