General NFFC thread

I think you might need a lie down chap.
Don't need a lie down I sleep very comfortably.
I see what's going on around the world and I'm not impressed.
I speak as I see fit, good, bad or indifferent.
Thing is, I live in the real world having lived through 80+ years of it.
I have served my country with honour and distinction.
No regrets in any way, just life's expectations as I see things.
If you see things differently I respect that and allow your thoughtful insights into the equation just as I have mine.

Johnny Owen removed from the Board and Edu hasn't attended the last two games.
Think the Owen removal from board is more to do with Forest being put in blind trust. EM had to inform UEFA and start proceedings to put Forest in Blind Trust before 1 March. This is to ensure we don’t fall foul of rules Palace style should Forest win EL and Oly get into CL.

As Mao reported two other board members were standing down. The three solicitors that were used last year are probably getting their Forest scarves out of sock draw as we speak.

Edu is probably filling his multi club wide role as a focus shift has been implemented.

It looks like Percy is getting his insider gossip directly from AC

Trap 2 is fast turning into Network Central, not that I care one jot

I've been anti-Edu from the start, but I reckon its more the fault of the brief he was given than anything he's actually done.
He was obviously told to change the player make up of Forest to make us a Champions League team when that just wasn't an attainable goal in the slightest.

However unrealistic the brief may have been, he failed terribly with recruitment. Unless the brief was to sign players who would have absolutely no impact on the side whatsoever, and actually make our squad options worse.

I wasn’t too bothered either way - I thought it was either an ego appointment or to help Marinakis get a club in Brazil. Looking more like the former though and given it was a factor in Nuno leaving and the poor return from our new players, it is feeling more and more like a costly mistake. Even if we stay up…

I dont think Edus brief would involve watching us play live every week by the way??
Yes, but Edu will be aware of the Politics involved, and that it is better to be in the room talking about someone else than not be in the room and have everyone talk about you.

And there is plenty going on at the moment; those individuals who set the high ticket prices for the European games will be looking to move the blame for the unsold tickets on to somone else.

The ticket prices were way too high, as SC holders - there was a 'deal' if you bought all 4 for the group stage, but even so - I/we have bought the last 2 begrudgingly, only because I may never see Forest in Europe again.

The SC renewals will be announced soon - this truly is where the club need to be careful, because I can't see a mythical 10000 waiting in the wings after such a sh1t show this season!

Exactly, and EM will be looking for answers as to why this has been allowed to happen.

How to destroy demand and good will in less than six months

It was mentioned at the start of this season that the club seemed to adopt a ‘fuck the fans, we can always get more’ stance based on last season. They could easily come to regret it in the coming months…

Much of the reason for that falls at his door - largely due to poor decisions in recruitment, pricing, managerial changes etc. This season has been a car crash on numerous fronts, when it could have been so much better.

Yes - there will be others delegated to make such decisions and they will face the consequences, but the repair job has to start now and the pricing points for the most loyal have to come into sharp focus now, because it is SC holders that will maintain attendances if we get relegated!
