General NFFC thread

Read in the Athletic that apparently with Kalimunedo and Bakwa, we were tracking them for long time and saw them both as a real coup and two of the best young talents in Europe.

The fact that we’ve decided to then loan out Kalimuendo a few later with an option to sell tells me the club is a complete shambles from top to bottom. If you’re going to give up on a player you’ve wanted for years because a hoof ball manager doesn’t fancy him then we’re fucked. It’s exactly why we’ll never emulate decent stable clubs.

They may well be but neither are showing it on the pitch even against mediocre opposition. Forests priority is survival. That requires a goal scorer or at least a target man. To purchase such an asset needs to be sacrificed. Perhaps two.

I have no clue what is going on. I really liked Kalimuendo

It was the manager who picked him to sign so I don't believe it can be solely the manager's decision to let him go, nor should it be. A loan, maybe, but not with the option

We have been really, really badly run this year.

You're right of course, but at the same time due to the mismanagement of the club at the top level we now find ourselves in a perilous position that demands a bit of short termism in an attempt to ensure survival.

This is a far from ideal situation that in the case of Kali & maybe others could seriously cost us in the medium / longer term as he / they have to sacrificed to make space in the squad & help to finance business now

But it doesn’t make a difference - we’ve loaned him out and given them the option to buy… there’s zero benefit or ‘sacrifice’ behind this decision.

By the way, he’s not even started a premier league game! His last two starts saw him score two goals in Europe - how could we possibly have given up on him before we’ve literally even seen him play

The issues pre-dated Dyche. There were rumours while Ange was here that Kali would be going in the January window. Apparently Dyche rated him but the other rumour is that Kali doesn’t train well and doesn’t want to be here.

Not everything is Dyche’s fault…

An interesting statistical article about Jesus, which says some interesting things about Jesus and Dyche - but also, I think, David Moyes

Surely we cannot judge them based on the chances they've had in a struggling team. When well run teams strengthen their squads they do so in a targeted manner but then bed them in over time and usually into a team that is settled, confident and with a clear system.

We simply have not done that.

In an ideal scenario, yes. Situation has dictated a change of priorities, which to sort requires funding and money is tight due to PSR/squad costs. Some assets have to be sold. Shorterm security over rules longterm gain.
