General Football thread

Forget the football. VAR is the new entertainment and the making up of interpretation of rules on the hoof.
A 13bn pounds per year football industry being reduced to a comical farce.

You have people with zero experience of the game amending rules that did not need changing and new technology being undermined by idiots who should not be anywhere near it.

The rules are universal but the controversies with VAR appear to be mainly local to the PL.

This is no longer the odd incident, it is two or three games every week suffering from officials ignoring the guidelines and making stuff up.

It would be nice to think that with two of the top six being involved in yesterdays circus, that something will be done about the situation; dont hold your breath.

Wednesday Villa, recently played, out of form, injuries and all change v Coventry, soon to be played, recently promoted, struggling, no goals, no points. Will Emery and Lampard ring the changes, view Cup as a lesser priority or play first team as need some consistency and confidence. Two games a week probably not a factor so early in season but less preparation time and potential knocks.

Newcastle look absolutely clueless, especially in defence, Leeds are bullying them
Yep, they have looked totally clueless from one minute one. Their tactic is to hoof it to the front men. I remember during the dark days we would attempt this by hoofing to Tyson when we were getting outmatched.

Leicester City FC is up for sale. £200m. The assets include King Power Stadium at £74m and Seagrave Training Ground at £120m. Seagrave cost LCFC £100m to build and is closer to WFCG than to King Power. Many think assets are over valued as debt is quite significant as is playing in third tier. Debts continue to rise each month and rumour is that they only staved off going into administration earlier this month by selling shares for equity. If promotion isn’t on the cards by Xmas re evaluation of sales of assets may have to take place. They do have other assets including a Belgian footie club and more land and facilities elsewhere in Leicester. Makes EM’s purchase of Forest a bargain and £130m spent on building a 50k seater stadium very wise.

Watching Millwall v West Ham United, which is free on ITV. Takeaways so far: Nuno still wants to play Morato out of position, Morato and Mavropanos his shit, and Engels his even more shit.
