Olympiacos president Evangelos Marinakis has presented project plans for a modernised and expanded Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.

Speaking at a special event held at the Piraeus Municipal Theatre, Marinakis unveiled the architectural vision for the club’s future home. The state-of-the-art venue will undergo a massive transformation, expanding its capacity to more than 53,000 seats, making it the largest and most technologically advanced football stadium in Greece.

The ambitious project is valued at more than €250 million. Crucially, the club’s leadership emphasised that the venture is entirely privately funded. It will be backed exclusively by Olympiacos and Marinakis himself.

Designed to be a 4-level technological marvel, the new arena will feature 70 access gates, 60 elevators, and 32 escalators to ensure seamless fan circulation. Additionally, it will house more than 1,000 square meters of dedicated workspace and premium facilities, transitioning the venue into a vibrant hub open 365 days a year.

I think it was @Will.NFFC who said Newcastle could be relegation candidates, and he may well be right. Manzambi is expected to have a medical tomorrow with Villa, I think they thought they had him, and if Guimaraes leaves, I think they are fucked. We should bid for Joelinton or Barnes or both to put the final nail in the coffin.
