General Football thread

European teams are in the main, in turmoil. Not as bad as Derby but still problems. Many are under financial constraints. Contracts are not being renewed even for the best. Covid is raising its head again. Bellenense had a game abandoned 7 - 0 down at half tome due to the virus. Several Bavarian based teams may play behind closed doors. The French Ballon d’or goes to PSG’s Messi, not as expected, to a Pole playing in Germany. Champions League and Europa cup have to play final round amongst rising covid rates and no fans. No TV companies wanting to renew TV contracts at present rates.

The Ballon d'or is decided by vote, 180 journo's from different countries; surely you are not suggesting the vote is rigged, are you?

Who would your vote been for if you were a journo?

I have not given the issue any thought whatsoever, and I cannot imagine that situation changing.

I was merely pointing out that the decision was reached after voting by journalists from numerous Countries, including this one.

Suggesting it was a stitch up is insane.

Your pathological hatred of all things foreign is starting to cloud your judgement.

Tbf that was just after she picked the ball out of the net for the 12th time. They subbed their keeper after letting in 8 in the first half 🤣🤣

Imagine swapping your keeper because they conceded 8 goals and the replacement ships a further 12. How bad must the goalkeeping academies in Latvia be for those to be the first 2 choices… are they just a country full of female amputees?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 nah she had two arms and legs but you saw how they kick lmao

I must say after it finished i felt like i had sat through some kind of torture porn and almost set up a just giving page for the two keepers who will clearly need therapy

John Aldridge, per BBC Sport:

"I know a lot of Everton fans and they're absolutely decimated at the moment, they can't see any positives, they're going through a rough spell".

English not his first language?
