General Football thread

I firmly expect Spurs to win, as I think we all do.

But they haven’t performed well in pressure games to date and this is the highest pressure game yet.

It’s a shame Wolves seem to have gone back to their old selves after a brief upturn though.
But how fucking bonkers and hilarious would it be if Wolves beat them?

I am going to try and watch this match just for the mere possibility of that happening.

I think Wolves have accepted they were relegated for weeks

Dont think it will impact their desire to get a result this weekend

Youve got one team playing with freedom and one playing under desperate pressure

Personally I think theres an equal 33 per cent chance for home win, draw or away win in this game

Which gives us a 66% chance of being happy with the result
What result is the 1% that's left..........

Chelsea v Brighton tonight. Little interest? Chelsea lose they are definitely out of champions league. Fernandez, Cucurella and Palmer have all announced lack of interest if no CL. With a £300+m loss SCR will be difficult to apply without a major sales and restructuring. No hotel car park or women’s team to sell. Guiu, Jackson and De Lap available? Would we be interested at correct price for one?

If Brighton win they go above Chelsea. Into Europa League spot, which Sunderland, only 2 points behind have an interest in. In reality the CL spots are sorted and EL/Conf and relegation only issues to be sorted. Plus FA Cup.

How?

They are 7 points from 5th place and they'll still have 12 to play for?

Even if Liverpool were playing tonight and won, it wouldn't definitely be over.

I get that it makes it a very long shot but it's nowhere near mathematical yet.

There is a very, very slim chance of it being mathematical when they play us, if they lose tonight and Liverpool beat Palace at the weekend and then win at Old Trafford the day before Chelsea play us.

Wolves v Spurs will be interesting as wolves are already relegated. Under normal circumstances you would expect spurs to win that. If they do that would be a morale booster for them. If they don’t then another nail in the Spurs coffin.

If spuds fail to win that game against wolves surely that's curtains for them, morale would be shattered. Even spurs' own Wolfie wouldn't be confident !

Not mathematically. Half the league mathematically interested in something but long shots. I am correct barring miracles. Lose tonight they are out of CL hopes.

Lots of tweets from Cov fans have been popping up on my timeline the last few days and I think a good chunk of their fanbase are in for a shock next season.

Many of them seem to think their squad is near enough PL quality already and they just need 2 or 3 quality signings, and they'll be fine.

Others are suggesting they sign the likes of John Stones, as if 1) They could afford his wages, and 2) He'd be at all interested in going there.

Reality will bite when they're 5-0 down at Craven Cottage and there's still 20 minutes to go.

Big game to watch tonight is Leicester at-home to Hull

Anything other than a Leicester win, with at least one result going their way, will see them relegated to the third tier.

If that happens there is a pretty good chance of that ground getting seriously toxic. One to watch with the sound turned up
Leicester are down already aren’t they? No way they escape now. Only requires 1 point from West Brom or Blackburn and they are gone, and that is assume they win their last 3

Gone

Rumours Sullivan to leave WHU. Brady decides to jump before she is pushed. It’s the timing that has surprised me. Sinking ships?

I agree

Although they play Blackburn last day so if Blackburn only take one point from the next two and Leicester win, they could scrape out of it

Mathematically tonight if they lose

Wolves last 3 home games:
Arsenal Draw
Aston Villa win
Liverpool win

I know where my tenner will be going.

They are in for a massive shock.

Some of the old heads know whats coming, but the younger supporters are three sheets to the fucking wind.

They think they are going balls out playing free flowing football, and laugh at me when I said you will play half the games with a low block and the other half against teams who play the low block.

And they can get ready for price increases galore.
